Recommend me a good suspenseful horror movie

Hey  :mwuaha:

Can anyone suggest some decent horror movies that have good plots and are thought-provoking (for a horror movie).

Please don't suggest torture porn, slasher movies or really slow-paced movies.

Thrillers/chillers are ok.

Thanks.

What about Invasion of the Body Snatchers (both 50's and 90's one - approx). They are incredibly good, and suspense and atmosphere is their thing (akin to The Thing).

Any horror hidden gems?
It doesn't have to be mainstream.

Were kinda dull.

I watched a French horror/suspense film the other day which was pretty good - it was called Haute Tension (High Tension) I think.
Have you seen Troll Hunter? It's an incredible film, I really loved it!

Sorry. Seen that. Terrible low budget film (not that I'm against low budget films but with this one you could really tell). :colondollar:

The Borderlands. Didn't get a wide release, quite original for a found footage movie and Mark Kermode gave it a good review.

Lol. But that was sort of the point of it :P

Eyes without a Face (1962)?
The Romero films?
Don't Look Now (1973)?

Hmm...Mark Kermode...don't really trust his reviews too much. What's it about then?

Sinister and Mama. Two fantastic films scared me a lot - Mama scariest and I believe they're both on Netflix

It's like the Blair Witch, but with Trolls.

Alleged strange goings on in a West Country Church, a team of Vatican investigators are sent to investigate. Which sounds crap, but I can only say that it deals with what sounds like a routine plot in a much more inventive way than you would think.

In tone (not plot) it is reminiscent of Kill List.
