I am an ex Muslim. Ask me anything.

I lost faith in Allah a year ago. Feel free to ask mostly anything and i probably will answer all of them.

I lost faith because I realised there is no evidence to support the existence of a higher being.

Nope, I plan to tell them when I am living independently haha
How would you describe yourself now? Atheist/Agnostic?
Why do you still define yourself by your old faith ? Is it a large party of your identity

I dont see many ex christians but ex muslims like make it a huge issue
How old are you?

How do you get along with your parents (assuming that they're Muslim)?

Because it is quite a big issue. When your whole family are devout Muslims and your cultural upbringing is based on Islam, it's kind of hard to get away from it. Not to mention the stigma that generally exists in the Muslim community about apostasy, so many of us go through a lot of our teenage lives not telling our family.

In my experience, Christians tend to be more lax about this sort of thing. On average of course.

I define myself as Atheist if asked. But really I don't care about the label. Calling myself an ex-Muslim very well indicates where I may have come from, who I may me be surrounded by and the troubles I go through in life everyday. Calling myself an Atheist in this situation doesn't.

Xotol explained it well.

can you give some examples?

the bit of Islam I find most disgusting is where men who will enter heaven get 72 virgins to have sex with
