Why do so people read the Sun?
So this is a question why do so many people read the Sun newspaper when it's full of bogus crap, also not forgetting the naked page 3 girl.
Would like to know what both male and females think.

The Sun appeals to (mainly) unintelligent people, and men who want to see naked women in a newspaper (also unintelligent).
I'm a 15 year old male, I think the Sun are a bunch of *****, Page 3 is just ridiculous when people now have instant access to internet porn. They were disrespectful as **** when Hillsborough happened (I'm an everton fan) and I have a paper round where I deliver 8 Suns. I just don't understand how people can read this. They also chat rubbish about all of their stories and hack people's answer machines to find stuff out. Bunch of low-lifes.

i don't read the sun ... but anyone I know that does does it because they always have done and they share the same views as those expressed by the sun

This is what I previously thought but didn't know how true it could be. Surely there can't be that much unintelligent people in the UK, quite frightening if it's true.

Quite sickening! Me being a Muslim im totally against it, especially how some women treat themselves.
Thing I find strange is Muslim women are looked down upon because of how they dress modestly yet, naked women in newspapers is acceptable.

Also, it's cheap isn't it? So they sell quite a lot, because it's easily accessible ie: on the way to work, you can have a read of the sun

Actually I completely disagree with the consensus on here.
People read the Sun for gossip and celeb stuff. It has (in my experience) a relatively high female readership who are just looking for some light-hearted giggles.
Nothing to do with boobs, and they do not take the 'news' in there seriously.

I guess people have decided what sort of people read The Sun without actually checking who reads The Sun, and why. Which isn't too great for a set of students / academics.
BTW, I do completely understand why people from Liverpool wouldn't read The Sun.
