Three guys in a car outside my house at night? Freaked out
so i randomly left my house the other night at 12.30am to get some ice cream from the local drive thru mcd's. i took my mum as i don't like going out alone at night.
i was walking out of my front door and directly in front of my door there was a parked car. the lights were off but the windows were open. i looked and saw three [maybe 4] boys, sitting and doing stuff on their phones. they saw me and said something but i was a lil startled so walked to my car, which was parked directly in front of theirs, but a few yards back. my mum came a few steps behind, and also saw them. she asked what they're doing outside our house and they said "oh sorry" :-S
when i turned my car on the lights were shining directly on their car, and they all covered their faces with their hands in an attempt to hide their faces from us.
when we returned they were gone. i got their reg plate. it's not the kind of road you would just randomly end up on and sit in your car with no apparent reason.
what would you do/think if this happened to you?

well i hardly ever leave my house at that time so it was by coincidence that i saw them.. i'm not sure if they've been here before or not

Sounds like your worrying for nothing. I've seen a number of guys who just sit in their car, talk and play music as a form of socialising, it probably just happened that they decided to park outside your house by random chance.

well i hope so too, but it was the way they were sitting directly in front of my house door [there were plenty of free/open places on my road without a house in front], and then the way they hid their faces. i had a teeny suspicion that one of them was an old work colleague, but again i hope it's paranoia.

The most reasonable assumption is that your light was blinding them, assuming that this took place in darkness.

I would think nothing on it. You have their reg plate, no need to stress yourself out further. They were trespassing but they weren't doing anything wrong, nothing to be alarmed at, at least until they come back with a hack saw.
