Missed my firm and insurance - for the second time

Hello all! I am a student from Hong Kong and this is my second year going through UCAS. Unfortunately, as the title stated, I missed my firm and insurance conditional offers again.:frown:

I don't know what to do exactly, but I did the following:
1) Sent emails to both of the admission offices of my firm and insurance
2) Applied for remarking (I told the unis too)
3) Cried my eyeballs out

My conditions (both of them) are: 555 for subjects expect Chinese and Liberal Studies, but I have 5*44 for my best three subjects. If I include Liberal Studies, it would be a 5*54. Still not good enough, but I'm just missing 1-2 grades. I also have a 27/42 in LNAT, which is not high at all and I don't think it would help. :frown::frown::frown:

I applied to: Birmingham LLB (firm), Manchester LLB (insurance)

Any idea what I can do next? I'm starting to think I'm not suited for law, then again I love the subject. Thanks a lot in advance.

You will be automitically entered into clearing and can find a space there. You might have to compromise on some things but you should be able to get into a university.

Hello! Thanks for the reply. I checked and I'm not in Clearing yet - hope they would give me a chance. :s-smilie:

Clearing doesn't open until A level results are out on 14th August, so I'm afraid you will have to wait until then.
Like carnationlilyrose said clearing doesn't open till the 14th August but if you look on some of the university websites (I know Lincoln has this) they might have a list of the courses that are available through clearing. Lincoln also has spaces in their law course (http://www.lincoln.ac.uk/home/clearing/coursevacancies/) although you can't apply yet but there's no harm in looking for courses at other universities that you could consider applying through clearing for. Good luck.
1) Law is a VERY competitive subject and even at lower Unis they will either be asking for high grades or they won't put places into Clearing at all.

2) If you can't manage to pass A levels even at a 2nd attempt then its likely you aren't up to doing Law. Its a very tough, academic subject and isnt for everyone.

3) There are other related subjects that are worth looking at - Criminology, Legal Studies or a general Social Science degree. No, these arent a Law qualification but you could still work in that area.

4) Look at doing a 1 year Foundation course. Successful completion would give you entrance to a degree and introduce you to study at a British University. You've missed these for 2014 entry but you could apply for 2015 entry from October and spend the next 12 months in a relevant job.
