We have lads' mags, but why no ''ladettes' mags''?

Why don't women want to buy mags with male nudes in them? All the ones you see on the market are published for gay men, even PLAYGIRL is mostly bought by gay guys and sells very little compared to its counterparts. Anything to do with nudity and sex is virtually sold and advertised to men : porn, mags, strip clubs, cam modeling (jk i mean whoring). Why isn't there a huge demand from the female market as well?
just that

there isn't a big demand from women
I'd take thousands of pounds to pose naked any day . where can I sign up.
Supply and demand.

I think it's been assumed that there isn't the market for it, however, given that approximately 30% of women watch porn (or so I'm told) then perhaps there is potentially more of a market than has commonly been believed.

Which would drop to 0% if they had to buy that porn in public.
Because even straight women prefer looking at naked women over naked men. Seriously, I see all these *straight* girls posting topless and suggestive photos of females as their background pic or whatever, I never see girls posting naked males and stuff. Women are just better looking.

And it's not as socially acceptable for girls to buy magazines like that. Women's sexuality is just not as accepted. I mean everyone knows that every male masturbates but a lot of people still think girls don't do it. Sexism, sexism everywhere.

There are a number of factors, really.
"lads mags" are aimed at teenage boys, the female equivalent is stuff like cosmo or just 17, which are full of pictures of half-naked men, along with a similar style of low quality journalism.

There are plenty of male strippers too, just look at the chippendales etc.

In general, I think women are a lot more discreet than men when it comes to porn.

And why buy when you can see it on the internet for free?
No but seriously I don't get how porn magazines are still kicking around - you think they be obsolete by now.

In those circumstances the percentage of men buying pornography would probably drop quite significantly as well. I think that societal pressures has a lot to do with it, there still remains a degree of Puritanism in British culture.

Same reason why you don't get as many male gossip magazines that revolve around exploiting celebrity misery, like their sudden weight gain, supposed anorexia, rumours of their marriages and relationships falling apart, affairs, celebs with bad skin, etc. It's all supply and demand.

With that said, you'll find similar content to what used to be seen in lads mags in gossip magazines, because from what i can remember they're nowhere near as pornographic as people like to make them out to be. You still had things like lifestyle (fashion, working out, etc.), pieces on TV shows, etc. I do remember Nuts taking it to a bit of an extreme in that they probably had topless women every third page at the very least, but it's really nothing compared to any pornography site you can find on the Internet, despite how people liked to make it out to be worse. Others like FHM moved to general lifestyle with more 'up-market' photoshoots, akin to GQ, well over 6-7 years ago.

It definitely contributes and people can be a lot more puritan now than they were a decade ago, especially with all the social justice movements and scandals that have dominated the headlines for the last 5-6 years.

It surprises me that politicians (less so here but certainly in America) can still be brought down by consensual affairs.

Most of it comes down to exploiting emotional reactionaries. All you have to do is find a news story which is going to elicit extreme reactions and cause some kind of moral outrage. It's mainly the media, since they have the largest influence on national mindset and what is morally acceptable, who then spin a story to fit a certain narrative. Politicians also piggyback off of this to enhance their public image, which is why you'll never see them go against the grain.

It's like a snowball effect and the way things are nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if the UK becomes more and more puritan because of that.
