Josie is an embarrassment to the Catholic religion

on her channel 4 profile, it did say that she was raised in a strict catholic family up until 18, so I'm guessing maybe the reason why she is sleeping around is because she is just trying to experiment with the freedom she has.

Her dad sees the pregnancy tests she has packed in the first episode, his reaction hardly struck me as that of a strict catholic. The real disgraces to Catholicism are the perverted priests

I applied there! but went to Liverpool instead because its closer to home what u studying? and yes, I felt like throwing the remote at the tv when she even began to think about dropping out. her mum finally made her come to her sense though.

Honestly? It upset and scared me for university in September. I 100% feel connected with Lauren in terms of her struggling to settle into university life; not having the confidence which affects me socialising (I prefer my own company most of the time). I'm also a non-drinker so I don't feel comfortable around drunk people which means I don't go out at night.

I was looking through the #SecretLifeOfStudents tag on Twitter whilst the show and the comments I saw (who were mainly about Lauren) were horrible. They tweeted things such as: 'oh I hope I don't get stuck with someone like Lauren.', 'she needs to lighten up and stop attention seeking.' And when she quoted Anne Frank and Eeyore 'what is she, 5?'

Not every student lives up to the stereotype of drinking, having one night stands 'smashed and dashed' and having one big party like Aiden; some people go to university to learn which is the whole point.

What annoyed me the most was when the narrator was comparing the number of Facebook friends between Lauren, Josie and Aiden; Josie and Aiden had over 'extravagant' 1,200 friends whilst Lauren had a 'modest' 400 friends. So? It just means Lauren is more of a private person and doesn't accept people she doesn't know, I only have 340 Facebook friends but I'm okay with that.

I hate how Aiden clearly didn't come to university to actually get a degree, only to act like a complete prick who finds getting drunk every night and 'neknominations' hilarious - I mean seriously, chlamydia banter?!

Josie's a hypocrite, claiming to be a Catholic whilst complains about not being able to pull. She needs to get her priorities right.

Lauren is too pessimistic. At first, I felt sorry for her (and even saw an aspect of herself in me). But as the programme went on, she just got really annoying, relying on Daniel (or is his name David?) as a human journal. She needed to do things for herself and I'm glad she eventually found herself.

could not agree more. and my firm choice is Leicester as well! for that reason im not watching it.

lool yeah its my firm too. I would be happy to come across someone like Lauren because I would probably cheer her up and that as I am the funniest human breathing. (according to recent studies conducted by Harvard Business School)

As a current Leicester student I can honestly say that I don't feel the documentary doesn't reflect on the university at all. What some of the other posters have said about finding certain student types in all universities is true. Some more than others, though again, I don't really feel it reflects the atmosphere of the university at all. I can't say the same for Oadby halls because I never stayed in them...I think it's kind of like that (so I'm glad I never stayed in them) from what I've heard from friends.

I wish id gone for city living instead of Oadby. on reflection I really don't know why I chose oadby. if theres anyone who wants to swap once im there I would leap at the chance.
if you don't mind me asking do you commute to uni? I could easily commute as im fairly local- but I decided I wanted the experience...now im not so sure.
on the open day in the department I visited the students seemed really laid back and focused- more so than any other uni. it really didn't seem to be the sort of uni that was only about boozing. im sure freshers fortnight will be interesting if nothing else !

how did you find freshers fortnight? im not much of a drinker at all- or one for going out but I will make the effort for a few nights but even so I don't know how I will be able to scrape together the money for the two weeks
