Have any UK local councils become fascist regimes yet?

Prior to the local elections a few months back, many lefties on here and all over the media were calling UKIP fascists and seemed genuinely horrified at the prospect of them gaining any political power.

Now that we have had strong UKIP influence on dozens of local councils for several months now (over a year in some places), would anyone care to point out which councils have become fascist regimes?

After all, if UKIP are the fascists that so many are convinced they are, surely fascism would have crept in on some local councils by now?

I'm really interested to hear TSR's left wing contingent tell me which councils have become fascist. After all, UKIP's electoral success nearly made them spontaneously combust a few months back.

More deafening silence from the lefties. Come on, where are the fascist councils? Surely they would be popping up all over the place with so many more UKIP councillors?

You can't really take a fascist approach to bin collection...
Councilors do not have very much power except building benches and collecting the trash. Your questions is also flawed as you cannot truly enforce a authoritarian regime in the UK anyway. Perhaps you are trolling us or are genuinely misinformed.

At any rate any one thinks the UK could become a fascist regime is very silly and anyone who thinks councilors have the power to construct a authoritarian regime of any kind is also very silly.

Damn those fascist benches!

Edit: ellipsis mistake

The Nazis never controlled the Reichstag but they still managed to acquire a fair bit of influence in Germany.

That's not all local councils are responsible for.

This thread was created for the lefties who were pooing themselves after the elections. I ask, where is the fascism?

They still got a genuine 29% before the night of the long knives and enabling act. One assumes they also polled well locally.

Ukip have got the equivalent of 23%, 17% and 14% in a general election during the 2013 and 2014 elections. They have about 300 councilors and possibly don't control a single council.
My councillor friends' experience of UKIP is that they promise the earth on local issues and are now realising how impossible it is to achieve those promises, and are now abandoning them. As local party groups they are practically unwhippable, are causes costs to rise and making councils ungovernable.

You obviously don't understand anything about councils. Like one of the other commenters mentioned they don't control a council.
"They have about 300 councilors and possibly don't control a single council." So no power there.

Even then councilors don't have much power anyway.

And the other commenter was correct when they stated: "
As local party groups they are practically unwhippable, are causes costs to rise and making councils ungovernable."

You are living in a fantasy world if you think that they can create a state like Nazi Germany from a council level. You say 'lefties' if they really did say 'fascist regime' then they were also silly. Nobody sensible is going to make a big deal out of a few UKIP councilors.

If you think that it's impossible to implement authoritarianism at local level, just look at Tower Hamlets. The THF radicals who set up this regime also don't have a majority, which dispels that theory too. Unsurprisingly, you won't hear lefties complaining about that regime.

The reality is that lefties queued up to express their horror at UKIP's local election success and denounced them as fascist in the process but nothing even remotely authoritarian has been seen from their councillors. Meanwhile, Lutfur Rahman and his THF henchmen rule Tower Hamlets with an iron rod but you won't hear the lefties criticising them, primarily because they're Muslim socialists.

Could you give some sources to corroborate these claims?

The only reasons UKIP's councillors haven't been 'authoritarian' are a) they don't hold power, and b) because they are such a garbage-vote that they've been elected under every promise under the sun, contradictory ones in many cases, so they've tied themselves in knots.

Yes you can. You can put cameras and sensors in the bins to make sure that people don't have too much rubbish and fine people if their bins are not in exactly the right position.

You can underpin rubbish disposal with a set of fines and penalties.

You can have a rigid system of charges for disposal for one class and grant a set of privileges for free disposal for a favoured class.

They don't control a single Council and thus can';t actually impose any policies at all so I wouldn't expect to see any evidence of their policies at all, yet.

(not that I think UKIP are fascists, I think they're incompetent idiots whose lack of ability will be exposed when they do control a Council)

You do realise that Councils also control a lot of other things:

LEA education provision and admissions
Local housing policy
Planning
Street cleaning
Local services (eg. Library's)
Maintenance of roads etc.

Among many, many other issues. A bad Council, for example the former Council in Hammersmith and Fulham, can do a lot of damage to a lot of people.

They probably refuse to collect black bin bags now.
Man, Ridwan, you smashed that straw man to pieces. Well done.

The inane drivel form idiots is deafening. I will stop calling you fascist when you stop calling me communist.

(I don't actually call UKIP fascist for the record)
