Teabag, then water, then take teabag out and add milk. Anything else is horrible.

:h:

That's the way.

Fair enough, I've never had honey or mint leaves in tea. Is it good?

Tea made out of milk? I knew people did coffee like that but not tea.

I love honey with tea, sweetens the tea and gives it a lovely flavour, whereas sugar only sweetens it.

Fresh mint and honey with tea is absolutely amazing (no milk, though). It works best if you brew green tea leaves in a tea pot rather than use teabags. It's something quite special.

As for the tea made out of milk: it's unconventional but it works fine, I do it when there's no condensed milk lying around. It's quite hard to the tea bags to infuse in the milk, so you have to 'work' them, so to speak.

Q. what does denaturing mean?

The protein molecules in milk are a set shape. When they get very hot. (e.g being poured into a boiling hot cup of tea) this forces them to change shape which chnages their taste.

Teabag in, water in, milk in, leave for a bit, teabag out, sugar in.
Always.

Cold milk? Does that not cool it meaning you need to leave it for ages to get a decent strength cup?

What? :colondollar:
Tea is disgusting. People still drink it?

But teabag
Hot water
Milk
Remove teabag
Sugar (if required)
Down the sink
Do people really put milk in first?!

Guys, teabag out first then milk!
TEA LEAVES + TEA POT

The poll is obsolete without this option

Oooh, wrote that wrong... should be:
Teabag in, water in, leave it for a bit, milk in, teabag out, sugar in.

It's generally down to laziness really - so I can do all the later bits at once

I think it turns out fine, but that's just my taste.

It's the reason why the RSC (Royal Society of Chemistry) reckon the correct way to make tea is to brew it in a teapot and then pour it into a mug that already contains milk. That way the milk cools the water as it's added instead of being immersed in a large quantity of water when added the other way.

Sounds technical and thus correct.

I did specify "in a mug" as 99% of students don't have a teapot so that option would not be good on a student forum.
(I have a teapot but i'm a rare case)

That's slightly better as it has time to brew nicely.

But still, should try removing the teabag first in future then the milk. You won't regret it.

- teabag in
- sugar in
- water in
- milk in
- remove teabag

This, I want the 'juice' out of the teabag as much as possible, infusing it with milk is hmmm.
I vote that the sacrilegious 12.5% that opted for milk first should never be allowed near tea again.

Seconded.

Which way do you fall on the teabag removal/addition of milk though?
