Claiming Job Seekers Allowance. A slight problem, help needed.

Probably not as my understanding is that they wish to see the transactions to assess whether or not you appear to have any regular income. My instinct tells me they would treat any redactions on your part as withholding necessary information. There is no harm in asking if they would accept what you are wanting to show them but if not, and should your betting be an issue, just be honest.

1. Could they stop me getting job seekers allowance if they see those things on my statement and think I gamble?

2. Could they ask to see the accounts of these sites to see if I have any money there? (I don't have any money on any of them and withdrew it all)

I'm going to claim job seekers allowance and I have my first appointment with them tomorrow. They want me to bring evidence of my savings (copy of my current account statement and savings account statement).

I have a problem with showing them my current account statement. For a lot of my recent activity, I have been depositing and withdrawing money from online betting sites. I don't bet on sports or casinos, but I do play poker now and then. Although I don't lose money, I am worried they will look at my bank statement and think that I am a gambler and lose money, which isn't true.

Is there any way I can get round this? Could I just show them the money portion of my account and cut out the statement part? I would prefer it if they didn't see my statement because they might get wrong ideas that I'm someone who loses his money to gambling.

They're only responsible for allocating the money. What you do with the money is totally up to you. Doesn't matter if you gamble. Remember the majority of people on Jobseekers spend their money on alcohol and cigarettes and they still always get their money.

They will only want to see your account to prove you don't have savings and that you're not getting regular payments each month which may look like cash in hand work or money off parents.

You've been brainwashed. I'm pretty sure the majority of people spend it on bills and food.

OP: you probably will get JSA if you fulfil all the requirement but you don't deserve it - why should the taxpayer fund you now you've lost all your money gambling?
