I think it's disgusting and so wrong! However, my mum has different ideas as it was so normal where she was so I'd guess you could say she I'd s product of her time. I'm glad she didn't do it to me or any of my siblings.

I know my mother got cut when she was young as something like 98%(?) of women born on Somalia but I don't personally know of anyone cut as a British Somali..hopefully sense prevails and it becomes outlawed.

Same here, I think its absolutely disgusting. Ive never heard of a British Somali/ Somali diaspora who go through that though, just the older generation. According to my mother, females would get cut otherwise you were viewed as najaas (dirty) and no one in the area would even play with you. The young girl would be made fun off for not getting cut (by other young girls) and people in the area. So basically you'd be a social outcast and no one would ever marry you lol. Crazy, right?

Yeah im 19. I look about 16/17 without makeup though but then again I guess most girls look younger without makeup xD

Lol most people i've spoken to from other cities on tsr have visited london atleast once . its the biggest , most multi-cultural city after all :tongue:
