Why do teenagers send nude pictures?

You have. Who even brings that up in real life conversation? Plenty people do it.

Why on earth would you sent it to their employer?

Ruin their career, especially if they are an public figure who you dislike or get a one up in a job interview.

You are incredibly naive to think that girls always 'end off worse' after the exchange of nude pictures.

In my experience they always have. Boys seem to be able to forget about it quicker. There are exceptions but generally speaking no.

I'm not surprised that girl was embarrassed, because that is not a picture I expect anyone would normally send to anyone...

Not necessarily married, just committed. What about young adults in long-distance relationships? I have sent slightly cheeky snapchats to my boyfriend who lives a few hours away, but none of them being explicit or showing my face, so if they ever ended up on the internet it most likely wouldn't be a problem. In this case, I didn't feel pressured into doing it at all.

But yes, nothing is private on the internet. That's why kids (and parents) need to be educated on the risks and how to prevent these things happening.

I think control here is important too. You were mature and felt in control. You teens don't. They have a range of ne emotions which often they don't control and do silly things. The same idea applies to teenage sex I suppose.

Because they are pretentious idiots.

How so?

It's a form of blackmail. It's been a big thing in recent times to groom teenagers online, gaining their trust and then convincing them to send nude pictures / videos. Once the predator has these pictures or videos they use them to blackmail the victim, usually for money. There are some really dark and twisted people out there. Teenagers get lonely, just like the rest of us. If someone wants nudes from you, it's a form of raising self esteem because you feel like someone finds you attractive and appealing. That's a big thing to a lot of young people in this growingly shallow era.

No idea. There were plenty of nudes going around when I was at school 12 years ago.

You want to hear something funny?

This girl sent me nudes of her and I put them around school and sent it to her parents. She was 18 btw and I blamed on her best friend. I covered my tracks good and proper

What did they take pictures with a Polaroid camera, or NV ldr Canon.

It's morally wrong.

Just remembering my days of this sort of behaviour. Obviously, teenage years end at 20. It's all about ego.

Because teenagers are horny and want to see each other naked, duh.

Probably cus it's a lot easier now. Sending /anything/ through MSN messenger was a pain. But Snapchat? Now it only lasts 10 seconds, and it takes even less than that to take and send it.

Also, I think that young people probably think of snapchat as being a way to send the photographs and have them quickly deleted, not thinking of them being screenshotted and kept.
So many judgmental and completely oblivious/wrong people on here :rofl3:
It's fun, saying that I am nearly 20 so hardly a teen but I know it turns my boyfriend on and I have fun doing that. I don't see the problem if it's consenting adults and no one has been pressured into it. I wouldn't send anything I wouldn't mind if the world saw I on't see nudity as something bad thing it's just a body we all have one, not like most people have't seen a naked body before.

No because I don't see the problem?

The same reason adults do it. People like seeing other people naked.

Then why did an actual girl say to me that I have a nice personality
Because there is actually nothing wrong with it. Teens like being aroused and having some material to masturbate to.

Are you being serious? That's incredibly cruel :/
Because its easy to do it what with phones and apps that are very accessible (snapchat). + Kids encouraging each other.
High levels of hormones. Exposure to pornography. Peer pressure. Media influence (seeing almost every celebrity posts half naked pictures)

I have no idea myself :dontknow:

The amount of times I just want to have a decent conversation and all they want to do is send me nudes

Citing recent cases why do teens send nude pictures? Clearly there's some kind of pressure there but why does the pressure get to them and what causes it?

edit - they're not all teenagers but there's a big difference between a teen sending a nude and an adult.

This is based off of what I learned in school and isn't backed by science:

Boys send (often unsolicited) dickpics hoping to get positive responses from girls (this is absolutely laughable and also very sad). Girls show the pictures to their friends and laugh about them behind the unwitting dick pic sender's back, or are simply disgusted and delete the picture(s).

There was actually this unhinged character who used to send me incessant, unsolicited dick pics when I was about 14 (while he was closer to 17-18). I can remember finding the pictures revolting. The pubes were disgusting. I'd never seen an uncut person before then, and I hadn't wanted to see one either.

Dick pics... just don't. They're gross.

Girls send nudes to boys because they've been pressured by their boyfriends. I had one friend who went out of town for the winter holiday and her boyfriend told her he needed a nude to sustain him while she was gone or he was going to sleep with someone else, and my friend was an idiot who listened to him. The boyfriend then showed the picture to all of his little friends, and because this was in the era before the law took these things seriously, all he got was a slap on the wrist while my stupid friend had to switch schools because of the bullying.

Girls also send nudes for attention. When I was in middle school, this girl I knew sent nudes of herself to every boy on her contacts list and by the end of the day everyone in the school had seen them. I'm honestly surprised that she wasn't expelled. Even if there were no real consequences for her, it is telling that I still remember the incident today, and all these years later, that incident is the only thing I really remember about her.

Girls: DO NOT SEND NUDES! In some places you can be arrested for child pornography even if you are only taking pictures of yourself. Women: Don't even send them to your fiancé unless you want them posted all over the internet if you ever break up, and even if you don't break up someone is going to see those pictures. The NSA is seeing the pictures. Your boyfriend's little friends are seeing the pictures. And, in twenty years, that is all anyone will remember about you.

Here's a rule to follow: if you wouldn't put it on facebook, don't ****ing take it!

Kids used to give one another birthday cards but hardly ever do: these days it is a tweet or an SMS message being sent around, possibly an animated graphic sent via e-mail (though I understand that e-mail is seen as "old people's stuff" by young teens today!). They are using technology because it is there and it is what they are used to.

Kids who have grown up with the technology to send messages and photos and who are used to having this technology available to them will use it.

In the 'olden days' (of ten or fifteen years ago), kids would 'play doctor' and do 'dares' and engage in 'show me yours and I'll show you mine' trysts.

But the kids today are used to sending pictures: it is how they naturally communicate. So it is very natural that the normal desires to be recognised as a sexual being and to engage in some (entry-level) sexuality involves the means of communication that they are used to. Nothing has really changed in what young people are trying to do: what has changed is the potential for total loss of privacy.

Yep, don't like gossips. Probably should have realised that earlier, lesson for everyone here - thing was she was actually pretty hot.

All the females went off me for some time and all the males thought it was funny. What's done is done right?

The hope of getting one back?
some do it because they want to intentionally show off their body or their courage.some enjoy it.I wouldn't dare take a naked picture of myself.
