Hitting on girls in the gym?

I just wanted to hear other people's views on this. I've now been going to the gym for just over a month and I've seen some really nice girls in there. I wouldn't approach them because I don't feel like harassing or bothering them, they came there to work out after all, not get hit on. I've seen some guys chase girls in the gym and sometimes I find it cringe, they start flexing their bodies and doing workouts around the girl for attention, it's almost primitive lol.

So what are your thoughts on this, have any of you guys ever hit on a girl at the gym? Have any girls ever been hit on, did you hate it? Discuss

So what are your thoughts

Iv been hit on, and they're usually just cringy, I'm trying to workout man leave me to sweat :hand:
You have no business talking to anyone in the gym unless it's about training.

Yeah I would think this is how most girls feel. But I do notice some of the girls almost melting, when they have these huge muscular men showing interest.

Guys talk to guys but I go to workout not make idle chit chat. As for chatting up girls, they do not appreciate it.

I've actually had it the other way round. I'm on my last set of squats and three reps in a girl is standing behind me asking what exercise I'm doing. Then 5 minutes later I'm doing calf raises and she's back in front of me asking if I'm doing a leg day.

F***ing annoying. So I can imagine it is just as bad for girls.
If I'm honest, I'd be pretty irritated if someone tried to chat me up in the gym. There's a reason I have my headphones in, and it's not simply for some motivational music.

I'd hate it - I'm there to work out, not to socialise. I'd never approach a guy at the gym either for the same reason.

Those girls must be new to the gym then

Haha, must be a little flattering at least? Unless she wasn't great looking then yeah fair enough. Don't think I'd mind the attention myself in all honesty

There is a UKBFF bikini competitor in my gym, she just slightly intimidates me, would like to speak to her but i'm there to train and so is she.

lmfao. Breh you're unsociable.

Seriously though it's incredibly hard to concentrate when you have random girls blatantly followng you around and staring and not even being discreet about it. Or coming up to you trying to start convos. Last time I went I was on the lat pulldown machine and there was this girl who went on a machine next to me, did 2 reps and then just sat there staring at me the whole time. Then I went on another machine a bit further off and could still see her staring at me in the mirror. No shame.

I wouldn't mind if someone talked to me when I finished or in-between sets and was just chilling at the side drinking water or whatever though.

Obviously it's nice having people pay you attention but I don't really want that at the gym. I get quite a lot of it when I go out but when I'm sweating, smell like crap and have dump taking facial expressions while lifting I don't want a girl talking (or a guy) to me.

Maybe I'm just being antisocial!
Big no-no. Simple.

Some girl was eyeing me up in my uni gym once, when I entered the gym she immediately looked at me, which is natural of course reacting to someone entering, kept turning around to take a glance at me every minute or so though quite a few times. I thought about approaching her and I was like, nah.. went into the other room to do my workout and when I came back into the other room she was gone then I realized how stupid I was and that i should of probably approached her. Might see her again but I'm not at uni at the moment.

Yeah I've been in some situations like this, not at uni though. Always wonder what we could've been :colone:

I've hit on a girl afterwards? Made eye contact a few times and both happened to leave at the same time and went from there

That's acceptable, I'd be fine with that!

It's just guys who feel they need to help me with everything like adjusting the barbell, the bench ugh so sexist.
