HAMAS political leadership have no details on the capture of an Israeli officer, Hadar Goldin.

Gilad Shalit was only a corporal. Hadar Goldin is a 2Lt.

Would it make a difference to the Israeli's? Would it make a difference to HAMAS's demands?

Yes, because unlike Hamas, Israel cares about the lives of its soldiers and civilians. They will make concessions to get the soldier back.

Israel's humanity is its downfall in this war. Whereas Hamas would not care if their soldiers were kidnapped or killed or tortured, Israel will do what it can in its power to have the soldier released.

And not that of excessive exposure to polonium radiation?

I dont believe there was ever a post mortem to acknowledge his cause of death, there are only claims, there is evidence to suggest multiple means of death, AIDS being one of them, radioactive poisoning another etc.

We will never know for sure.

Nope, this will prove Israel to be the better side, showing they respect the lives of their soldiers and civilians and dont just call them martyrs and let them die.

Difference between being normal and being fanatically crazy.

Let's hope it results in the end of this conflict...

Yes, but even if this conflict ends, how soon until a new one?

It feels like an endless cycle. Until Hamas is in power, there'll always be conflicts. You can blame it on Israel for wanting Hamas out, or on Hamas for provoking Israel, but either way, as long as Hamas is in power, we will see similar conflicts on a very frequent basis.

Exhumation of Arafat's remains

On 9 July 2012, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas approved the exhumation of Arafat's body in response to the Al Jazeera story about polonium. [61] On 8 August 2012, Swiss experts were invited to the West Bank to prepare the examination of Yasser Arafat's remains for possible poisoning. [62] The lab said that they wanted guarantees that the investigation would not be used for political purposes, saying, "Meanwhile, our main concern is to guarantee the independence, the credibility and the transparency of any involvement that we may have." [63] On 27 November 2012, three teams of international investigators collected samples from Arafat's body and the surrounding soil in the mausoleum in Ramallah. A French, a Swiss and a Russian team have independently investigated the samples. [64][65][66]

Publication of the results of the studies was delayed, reportedly on request of the Palestinian Authority, who feared they could have negative impact on the peace talks. [67]

On 6 November 2013, al-Jazeera reported that the Swiss forensic team had found levels of polonium in Arafat's ribs and pelvis 18 times higher than normal, and were 83 percent confident that polonium poisoning occurred, but Professor Bochud disagreed with this interpretation by Al Jazeera and only states that the poisoning hypothesis by polonium is "moderately supported". [68] According to a journalist, Luis Lema, on a probability scale ranging from one to six, death by polonium poisoning is around five. [69] His widow Suha stated her belief that he was a victim of a "political assassination" but refrained from finger-pointing and said she would await the French forensic[51][70][71]...

Of course there will be disagreement and this and that as it is a highly sensitive political issue. Cant be sure, yes

Robert Serry, the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, condemned Palestinians for breaking the ceasefire.

Despicable entity.

It is inevitable that the Israeli state shall cease to exist within the 30-40 years...

In what way is it 'inevitable'?

HAMAS don't let Palestinians perish in Israeli jails on what are probably, trumped up charges.

HAMAS are realistic, the IDF are idealistic as perception is everything to them because it is used to keep faith and confidence in "the system".

As Israel becomes more firmly established, it will no longer be excused from adhering to international obligations (as seen recently).

Thus, it's actions, if it carries on, which it no doubt will, come under severe scrutiny which means that it starts losing friends and allies.

A concentrated effect by the Palestinians against the Israeli's, both militarily and diplomatically will ensure that the Israeli state ceases to exists within 30-40 years if it carries on, like now and in the past, with relative impunity.

HAMAS is only in power because the Palestinians have deemed it necessary for them to be in power.

If Abbas, after having recognised and allowed the expansion of Israeli settlements, could have in fact allowed himself to be firm in negotiations without dancing to the Israeli tune, then the people of Gaza would have voted overwhelmingly for Fatah.

But they didn't because they believe the problem is Israel and HAMAS is the solution...

Why do you trust the UN here and not when they accuse Israel of apartheid, an illegal blockade, using human shields and purposely targeting civilians?

Double standards ftw
the israeli supporters are always the most stupid

there is no way anyone can justify the 1000+ lives they ended for the 30 or so they lost, no matter what hamas has done. if you dont agree, please tell me why, amuse me.

the idf are murderers nothing more, and you wonder why hamas does not want to stop?

So not only the Pro Israeli side engages in whataboutery as some like to claim...

I have no doubt that both sides have committed atrocities now and in the past. Some of the UN reports and condemnations, I agree with, others not necessarily to the full extent they'd like to present. I still believe that they're much too pro Hamas for a supposedly tree huggin' peace lovin' organization.

In the current conflict, there have been no reports by the UN for the state of Israel using human shields and purposely targeting civilians to the best of my knowledge. Feel free to correct me by using sources other than Al Aqsa TV. I am well aware that in the past this has occurred, but also that the individuals, not the State of Israel, but the individuals who broke the law in such a manner were investigated and prosecuted by Israel when found guilty.

Anyway, the point was that I provided evidence that the UN and US have both condemned the Palestinians for breaking the ceasefire as you requested, and since you can't possibly come up with a response, you resorted to pointing fingers and making claims.
White House condemns "barbaric" capture of soldier during ceasefire.

Correction: It's a conditional condemnation from the WH.

If what Qassam are saying is true (that they captured the soldier prior to the ceasefire), then someone is going to end up with a lot of egg on their face and they sure as hell wouldn't like it...

Sorry for not being offended about being called stupid by someone who writes as incoherently as you.

Would it be justifiable in your eyes if 1000 Israelis died? Would it then be okay to murder 1000 Palestinians?

Also, could you tell me exactly what Hamas hopes to achieve by firing their rockets into Israel? All of you pro Hamas terrorists keep on insisting that they don't do any damage. In that case, what is the point of firing rockets?
