What are your top 5 and bottom 5 most respected A Levels?

I have seen this thread where you had to order 6 a levels from most respected to least respected but I was wondering about the rest.

Whatever gets you into the university you want to go to and do the course you want.

It will vary, depending on what you want to study, I suppose.

You have maths in your top 5 but not further maths?

And why is biology in your bottom 5 but not something like media?

Just curious.

IMO, it goes something like this:

Top 5:

Further Maths
Maths
Physics
English Literature
History

(honourable mention to Chemistry, Biology and any foreign language)

Bottom 5:

Sociology
Media Studies
Sport Science
Dance
Possibly Photography?

(honourable mention to things like Health or whatever)
Top:
Maths/Further Maths
English Lit
Languages
Physics
History

Bottom:
Drama
PE
Photography
Media Studies
Business studies

that's just from my experience, I'm not saying its always fair that the bottom ones arent respected but thats just the way it is. also it depends what uni you want to go to as if you want to do PE for instance obviously its not going to hinder your chances, but if you want to do history or physics for example it could cause issues
Top 5:

Economics

Bottom 5:
Everything else
Top 5
Chemistry
Maths/Further Maths
Any Foreign Language
History
Physics

Bottom 5

Top 5 (in no particular order) :
Maths/ Further Maths
Chemistry
Physics
English Lit
Biology/History vying for that last place... (probably history, if I had to choose. Just biased. )

Bottom 5 (again, see above) :
Critical Thinking
General Studies
Media
Business studies
PE/Sports Science/Travel and Tourism also in there somewhere.

Just my personal opinion. Though critical thinking/general studies are on the black list for some universities so...

Top 5:

- Philosophy
- Mathematics (including FM and AFM)
- Physics
- History (tied with Economics)
- Any European or Oriental language. This does not include studying English as a first language at A-Level.

Bottom 5:

- Electronics (just do A-Level Physics, or do a BTEC!)
- Religious Studies - it is nothing more than a single branch of philosophy. Why not tell an artist they can only use one colour?
- Physical Education. I do respect Physical Education as a subject, but I think that A-levels are best spend on more academic, but facilitating subjects such as Biology.
- Sport Science. Not academic enough to be an A-Level in my honest opinion. It should be a BTEC
- Photography. It's just a subset of art.
Top 5:
Maths/FM
Physics
Chemistry
English Literature
Languages

Bottom 5:
Media Studies
Business Studies
Film Studies
Photography
Sociology

"OMG NO STEM SUBJECTS IN YOUR TOP 5" - yah cos for what I want to do you need essay subjects

"OMG STEM IN YOUR BOTTOM 5" - yah cos for what I want to do, you don't need science subjects

As someone else said. It entirely depends on what you want to do after A level, and for me, they are the best/worst choices for my hopeful uni course.

But tbh just because something isn't respected it doesn't mean you shouldn't do. Do what you're interesting in and you're more likely to get somewhere rather than slogging through maths and chemistry a level but hating it.. I want to do geography at uni and my brother always says that its a waste but I just think its interesting and I love it so I don't care
