what are your AS grades this time around?

BDE I'm retaking one unit of the D to pull it up cause that unit pulled my overall grade down, one unit from the B, and both units of the E. Teachers said they'll probably predict me around ABB/ABC/BBB

I'm not trying to be mean but if you got BDE second time around, do you think you will be able to cope with medicine? You already retook the year, will retaking it again help?

First time I failed the year due to personal reasons and also wasn't happy with the subjects I was doing, this year, I know I could of worked harder, which I'm going to do at A2 starting September.

But they go deeper with retakes, So I am guessing they do. And your predicted grades are going to be what?

Hi,

I decided to post this thread for the BM6 medical course. It feels very competitive as there are only 30 places. Does anyone have any advise, experience or handy tips for the selection process, interviews or personal statements?

Thanks:smile:

Hey

What were your as grades?

Where would I mention my reason? on my personal statement?

No, your teacher should write it in your reference. You can mention it in your ps if you really want to though it is not recommended. When you call them ask if they'll accept an additional letter from you explaining the situation.

 Usually yes. As you're asking for extenuating circumstances they might look at your AS grades but I've not head of them doing it before. Then again people usually apply after doing 2 years of A2 rather than 2 of AS.

Hey! I am an ex-BM6 (2010/11) nwo BM5 and am more than happy to help out.

http://www.southampton.ac.uk/medicine/news/seminars/2012/07/bm6_widening_access_to_medicine_summer_school_2012.page

I spotted this the other day - it's a free BM6 taster summer school. Might be worth looking into.

But yeah, any questions I am more than happy to help! <3 Good luck!

Is this available to those applying for 2016

It wasn't on this year, but as next summer is so far away I doubt they've decided whether or not it's on or not yet!
