Help choosing A levels?

I already know what A levels I need but my friend needs help choosing A levels. He needs to know what subjects does he need for him to degree in Hotel Management. He is interested in schools such as Les Roches what's their demand and if any hotel management students in good schools see this thread ,what subjects did you take? Please help Thanks :biggrin:

I haven't done this, I'm going for History at Cambridge but I would have thought:

Travel & Tourism, Business Studies, English Literature or Language and a language or ICT might be good!

I don't know for sure, but I imagine ICT/computing, business studies, economics, travel and tourism, health and social care, maths, languages (Les Roches is Swiss I think, so French could be useful). Alternatively there are BTECs in travel and tourism which might provide a more specialist education if he's sure he wants I go into that field.

That sound pretty good. He was thinking of Business Studies, Law, English Literature, Sociology or Psychology :P

Hotel Management is a very specific degree, and one which is not required for actual Hotel Management. An economics/business/management degree would be adequate and open up more doors in the future should he change his mind.

Maths (FM if he's confident) Economics History/English and a fourth he plans to drop after AS.

Tell him to research current Hotel Managers and their backgrounds. A degree is not essential, work experience in a hotel environment may be more valuable.

I'd say Business and English out of them will be good but he should take Travel & Tourism. That will be sort of about the stuff he is interested in. Then Psychology or Law... or sociology really but they're probably the better ones.

I just thought it was odd that you included Cambridge as well, as it bears no relevance to the question at hand. "I'm not an expert" would have sufficed.
