English at Leicester - 2014/15

Thought I'd make a thread for people who are doing English as a single honours or as a joint honours at Leicester in September! Hope you're all as excited as I am!

Yeah, I joined English last week, but I'm just super keen hahah. I'm staying in the Coppice, in John Foster halls  Jealous that you'll be able to roll out of bed and into a lecture in less than 15 minutes hahah

Aha awe cute! I'll definitely be joining it so probs see you theree . Yeah I was kinda gutted about not being in oadby because thats where most of the freshers will be but met some freshers staying in Nixon and i'll be saving money on not having to buy a bus pass or need to get taxis much. It'll be super convenient for early morning lectures too aha.

Definitely! Yeah, I guess that is one of the advantages of the student village, but like you said, I imagine you're not jealous of the amount of money we'll have to spend! £350 for a bus pass! Deciding whether I'd rather walk than spend that hahaha

Aha yeah, I should start a budget plan soon or something, don't want to be one of those students that run out of money real quick. Any other societies you're thinking of joining? :^_^:

It's mainly just a socialising thing, I think. They have English society bar crawls, and they hold events like book clubs and English related workshops. It seems pretty cool, and membership for the year is only £5

Yeah that sounds pretty cool. From what I've seen on visit days, there seems to be very few guys on the course so it's nice to know I won't be the only one haha
