The Anime Society 5: Tentacles For All!

I know u probably don't dig mainstream anime (btw, I apologise for never editing my post) but have u seen HxH.
I recently binged it. Finished about 2 days ago.

I've been following it since the first episode aired (the 2011 series, that is), and it remains one of my favourite ongoing series... not sure how I'll fill the void when it ends in a few weeks. :no:

And it's not that I don't like mainstream series, I just don't give them priority over anything else simply because they're mainstream. If something sounds good, I'll watch it regardless of how popular it is. :yes:

I saw the 1999 version but instead of watching the OVAs and then jumping to the 2011 version like someone suggested, I just watched the 2011 version from the top :tongue:

I read some of the manga after but it sucks imo. I hope this hiatus isn't permanent like bleach -_-. It's so awesome.

Not sure what to watch now tbh. Hopefully something dubbed. I want to be able to utilize my 2nd screen and watch stuff while doing work :tongue:

I was happy when the 2011 came out as it's now further on in line with the manga :teeth:

Big fan of shounen and HxH is right up there as my favourites. I'm a Gon fan myself :tongue:

When I said it sucks, I was referring to the art style. The other things are alright. It was just annoying to read/look at.

Ah I see. I know what you mean then :tongue:

Pretty sure I watched Golden Boy dubbed. It's a bit old but rather funny series dubbed and not too long :biggrin:

Although...if you were looking for a manga...I can say Mx0 is a good one.

I hear there's only 10 chapters of that arc out so far, and with the constant hiatuses, the anime would catch up so quickly that there would be no point. Better to wait for the arc to finish than to go into filler. :yucky:

Haha I can only glue my eyes to the screen to watch anime.

Not currently learning Japanese but I've been considering getting back into it. Took it as an extra module during university for 2 years and it'd be nice to be able to understand it without subtitles someday :daydreaming:

It'd also be nice to understand what the heck all the anime songs I'm listening to means for once :tongue:

It's all about sounds good :borat:

Lyrics can be googled but too much bother :redface:

I'm following one called The Gamer which is pleasant.
I've also read one called 1/2 Prince which is also ongoing, albeit slowly. They are both somewhat about characters and rpgs though that idea is presented differently in both :smile:

In the latter, the characters are able to play a game using a VR helmet. Like SOA, except they aren't stuck!

I'm hoping Hunter x Hunter will get a sequel when there's more manga material, but throwing around dates/years is a bit pointless when the manga-ka's on hiatus so often. Who knows how long it'll take for the current arc to be finished? :dontknow:

I actually discovered The Gamer about 3 weeks ago haha. It's not bad.
Also tried Girl of the Wild's which is half decent :tongue:

I'll give 1/2 Prince a try. Sounds like my kinda thing.
