Nope - the vast majority of Universities have them but larger (Red brick/ Russell Group ect) have more. They basically have more money and/or alumni who are willing to give them a fund specifically for students. My University has scholarships and we only have 2,000 students on campus and 7,000 overall

I'm not sure if it classifies exactly as debt, but I've got £1000 to pay off on my credit card.

A combination of quitting my job and relying on the card to pay bills, and then not getting another job to repay it.
Maintenance Loan: 3000
Maintenance Grant: 1100
Bursaries: possibly £1000, may not be entitled this year
Scholarships: 0
Savings: hope to survive without using them!
Money from Parents: they'll plug any shortfalls

Accommodation Cost: £400 / month all in
Maintenance Loan: £3610
Maintenance Grant: £0
Bursaries: £0
Scholarships: £0
Savings: £0
Money from Parents: paying for accommodation

Accommodation Cost: £5336

Weekly spend after Accommodation: £100

No but it's with a private company because of a mess up with uni accommodation and they work in 48 weeks rather than 38/40 :frown:

£3670. A decrease from last year. My mother forgot to put give them evidence of her earnings, but she earned a little more than last year so I doubt there would have been a difference, so it's not worht the extra 6 weeks it would take to change it.

Loan: £3670
Money from parents: £3000 a year
My accommodation is £4800

That gives me around £100 for food a month and £52 for bills, with nothing else.
Yeah, I need a job.

Going to base this on the University i am most likely to get into; Sheffield (insurance):

Maintenance Loan: £2713.00
Maintenance Grant: £5160.00 (Welsh Government Learning Grant)
Bursaries: £1400
Scholarships: £0
Savings: £1000 (Albeit most will go on a new Laptop/Desktop)
Money from Parents: £0 (Albeit they are buying items like pans, towels etc.)

Accommodation Cost: £5107 (42 weeks)
Weekly spend after Accommodation: £123 (~£99 excluding savings)

Just realised. I based my weekly spend on 42 weeks, although i most likely won't be there 42 weeks but 31 (30+1 freshers), meaning;

Weekly spend after Accommodation: £123 (~£99 excluding savings)

changes to

Weekly spend after Accommodation: £167 (~£134 excluding savings)

Oh what an incredible surprise that was. Wait. No. That just shows how incredibly messed up Student Finance is.

I applied in May and only heard back this week lol if you still haven't heard back, call them.

How do you find out how much you're getting? My financ3 application still says "submitted" it then says you have provided all evidence needed, so has your mother. Now we will contact you via a letter when your application is successful. Guessing I have to wait for the letter right?
😀 Thanks

Nicholas

Have you called them? I had the same issue and they sorted it all out, 2 days after calling them it was approved

I'll have about £25-30 left a week after accommodation because my loan is average and my accommodation is expensive...
But I don't drink or smoke so I should be OK.
