Is anyone good at Maths?

I'm fluent up to A2
Hi! I'm Rosie, 14 from Somerset.

Aside from the required GCSEs, I've taken Drama, Music, Dance, History and RE.
I'm enjoying most of these, yet I am a bit anxious as I have taken three performing arts which will obviously be very stressful when exam times roll around.
I am not decided on what I would like to do with my future, however I have narrowed it down to three possibilities - Medicine, Law or Actor. As you can tell these are very different, and all are tough to pursue. I am leaning towards being a surgeon or Ob/Gyn specialist.
Any advice on what choice to make??
Thanks

Hi Rosie, I'm karmacrunch and welcome to :tsr:!

You sound very arty! If you need any help just ask as we have a wide range of subjects being taken!

We have a while to chose careers! I think that once we've completed our GCSEs we'll probably have a clearer picture. Most of us have ideas of what we to do or are almost firm like you! Maybe do some research and maybe some work experience to help you with your decision?

Welcome again!

Easy
You first look at the equation e.g X2+12+8

Then you find the square which can be worked out by the first two parts so X2+12 = (X+6)2 thus would be equal to X2+12+36

An important rule us that all quadratic equations are equal to zero and X2+12+8 is equal to zero.
36-8=16

So no we know X= positive 6 plus minus the square root of 16 which is 4,

Since it is equal to zero we need to do the opposite and therefore X=negative 6 plus minus 4

If the root isn't divisible then you just use the square root symbol, e.g if it was X2 =17 then x would be equal the root of 16, it can also be written in surd form

I dunno if you understand this but search online if you find this trash lol

That is quite helpful, I'm just writing that down. Can I pm you some of my homework just so you can give some guidance?
