I've just got into year 10, like (hopefully) most of the members here are
I am studying Triple Science, Maths, Double English, Spanish, Business, History and Geography.
I enjoy things like; history magazines (nerd ), cricket, badminton, Geography and I like being organised!

I want to do Geography, History, Maybe english (depends how my GCSE's go) and also Law if im able to (at sixth form).
I wan't to become a solicitor in later life, as it is a highly paying job that loves students of all my favorite subjects
I have exam anxiety, so if someone could message me on ways to calm oneself down in panic attacks, or any sort of revision tip and note making tips are good (as I have to do 20% of my GCSE straight off the brink of year 10 as i'm in the fast track group!)

Welcome to the thread :wavey: :party:

Most of the members here are..? :tongue: How are you finding your subjects? :smile: Being organised? You'll definitely fit in here then :yep: From what I've heard, I think karma and Mr... like being organised too :tongue: You're more decided than me on a levels and I'm in Year 11 :redface: Currently am thinking about 7 subjects I could do :lol:

Exam anxiety? Breathing techniques perhaps? Breathe in and out to try and calm yourself down. Take regular breaks from revision and eat something during that time maybe? Or do something you enjoy :h: Make sure you eat healthy, stay hydrated and get enough sleep too! :smile:

Revision tips.. do short bursts of revision with regular breaks :yep: 45 min revision with 15 min breaks for example/ That will help keep your concentration. Find a revision technique that works for you, I find that auditory learning helps (reading my notes out load telling someone to read them to me, watching a video, getting someone to ask questions) and flashcards, others are put off by flashcards because there can be so many of them. My friend prefers to write things down.. again and again until she learns it :h: Get a good revision guide, they're very helpful! Ask your subject teacher about them. They may give it for free/reduced price/recommend one :smile: Have a look at past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports near exam time too :yes:

Best of luck on your GCSEs :woo:

Hi Chris! I'm karmacrunch and welcome to :tsr:!

I love Geography! Human or physical geographer? :ahee:
We also have a lit of aspiring lawyers on this thread too!

I hope everything will be fine with your exams, I don't have this but there a lots of threads which can help too. Also, Black Rose's advice is really helpful. I'd suggest being very familiar with your work before hand (revising and learning as you go so it sticks) so you don't start worrying too much near exam time. :h:

Ask any questions you have and welcome again!

:confused: if I'm at all honest here, there's no point in explaining this to me because I'll end up not understanding it and you'll be wasting your time replying to me, sorry :s-smilie:

do you want sample SD or population SD?

\sigma = \sqrt{\dfrac{\sum (x_i - \mu)^2}{n}}

s = \sqrt{\dfrac{\sum (x_i - \bar{x})^2}{(n-1)}}

find the difference between the mean and the point, square, add them all up, divide by n (or (n-1)) and square root all of that

Ah okay :redface:
Is AS Chemistry difficult or is it too early to tell?

It doesn't seem that bad so far tbh

That's a somewhat different equation to what I learnt but still similar, it's okay I'll just ask a teacher :tongue:
