What do people do inside their room at Uni?

My flat mates are always inside their rooms! I go inside the communal kitchen and no one else is there. It would be nice to meet the people I share the kitchen with, but I think it's rude if I knock on their door and introduce myself.

I'm sitting inside my room and I'm bored. How can they spend so much time inside their room being ignorant?

How is that ignorant? For a start, they could be doing what you're doing yourself, sitting on tsr, they could be watching youtube, netflix, fb, they could be reading a novel, they could be studying, they could be playing a musical instrument, they could be playing their xbox/ps, they could be talking to friends and family, they could even be fapping, there's all sorts of things they could be doing.

People are probably just doing the same thing they'd be doing at home, sitting on their laptops or reading or sleeping. I rarely see my flatmate and we're in a 2 bedroom private rent.

Well they should give me priority because I'm their new flat mate.
It wouldn't be seen as rude if you went and introduced yourself to them. I started university last year and at the beginning of term, I was one of those people who always stayed in my room because I was too shy to be in the kitchen socialising, but as I got to know people, it became much easier to leave my room, so by the end of term, I was never out of the kitchen. They may be shy or missing home so a friendly face would be probably be greatly appreciated. Or, they may be like you and just waiting for someone else to go into the kitchen first. If you are happy to go and introduce yourself to people on your floor, I definitely would :smile:
