Which graduates are most likely to make 50k+ in their careers?

Most graduates will earn 50k+ since wage increases are on the up. Considering how long we will likely work, the average wage could easily break 50k before we retire.

Easily. 34 years (age 55) at 2% inflation will break £50k, and that's using the average wage for all workers, £26k. And since most graduates will reach £26k by their late twenties, that assumes they never get promoted past £30k in today's money.

Of course, the figure means very little. Housing is compounding much faster than wages.

I wonder where those figures come from. Two years ago HESA figures apparently showed Oxford mathematicians were highest paid 6-months after graduation at an average of £42,500.

In their careers? Most people taking their degree seriously would be earning £50k by the time they retire I'd have thought, especially if you live in London. Underground drivers earn £60k currently.

You can study immunology as a purely academic subject, however if you want to be an immunologist, i.e. a doctor who has specialised in this field, then yes of course you need to study medicine.

I know a psychologist making over 100k, travelling between countries when they need her. I don't know much about why though but I think she's a very in demand criminal or forensic psychologist and a bit of a one off.

No I did biomed and concentrated on immunology in my third year. I'm now an immunotherapy researcher for a clinical trial.
