you have to study 6 in total (3 for AS, 3 for A2)

in AS you need to do FP1 and 2 other applied modules. For example FP1, D1, S1 would be a valid combination as long as you're not doing them in regular maths.

In A2 you need to do either FP2 or FP3 or both. so a valid combination would be FP2, M2, D2.

But yeah the rules are you have to do at least 1 Further Pure in AS and at least 1 Further Pure in A2 and then the others can either be applied modules or further pures.

Heres what i'm doing:
AS: FP1, FP4, S1.... A2: FP2, FP3, S2

Does FP4 not require any FP2/FP3 knowledge or C3/C4 knowledge?

ONLY available from AQA

requires C3, C4, FP1

the module is entirely based on linear algebra

This module in my opinion is the ONLY good thing on the AQA Maths syllabus

Oh? So isn't it hard for him to do it in AS then?

I do AQA as well but we don't do FP4 :frown:
Interesting. I should check it out.

I hate AQA syllabus. It's in stupid order for schools which do FM and maths simultaneously....well maybe it's my book's fault but either way...
No proof by induction in FP1 - I loved it when I half-self taught it in Year 10 :frown:

I think AQA was the first board to design modules in such a way so you can learn straight maths and further maths at the same time. Other boards now do similar things.
Schools offer modules according to demand and how certain Key people in the Maths department feel about certain modules.

Oh really? Probably my book's fault then lol it's from 2004
We all do same module no choice whatsoever - but I can see head of department atm loves stats and decision just cause she teaches them haha

that is a really good enough reason and usually together with demand determines the non core modules available in any school.

I hope this makes sense.

Apologies I am using your thread for a non mathematical query in the forum.

Does anybody know how the members order appear at the bottom of the forum ...

For instance I see my name always first/ that is easy to explain.
Then the rest of the users appear in a random order/certainly non alphabetical/not in order of entry/not in order of posts.
How does this order work?
Why do some people have colour and what does it mean?

colour = subscribers or team members

No idea about order - I would guess - when they came online

Certainly it is not the order they come in/ I watched that because after they come in they move around ....
Most of the time I have an annoying individual always next to my username and it stresses me out ...

Dunno

I reckon they move to the start when they post so it is in order of last posting
