Does Polymerisation require absence of oxygen?

Do all polymerisation reactions require absence of oxygen? Searched it up online and it mentioned about free radical polymerisation, and so sorry but I have next to no idea what that means. What's the difference between free radical polymerisation and the other forms of polymerisation eg Addition Poly and Condensation Poly?

You normally would not want any oxygen around depending on conditions as it may react with the other reactants.
The free radicals are chemical species with an unpaired electron which are used to initiate the reaction for some addition polymerisation reactions.
