Sandhurst- what exactly would you define as a "garish colour"?

I was advised to look into Sandhurst. On the letter, I saw that my blouses should not be of a "garish colour".

What exactly would you define as a garish colour?
Do you think I could get away with pastel colours maybe?

Mostly curious!

Bright and or lurid. Leave the day glow yellow and hot pink at home.

Sandhurst is a very traditional place. Bit of common sense needed.

It would seem more appropriate for Dartmouth, that.

CplSkippy,

When you get to Sandhurst, there will be a member of the training team called "Colour", you can approach this man with all your questions regarding appropriate clothing colours, for that is his job and that is why he is known as Colour.

Hope that helps.

Better banter NFI, much better. Made me smile  even though I take the internet too seriously.

Skippy, best of luck at Sandhurst. Bit cheeky of them to advise you to dial down the colour - have you seen the standard Army Rupert mufti wear? Wine or plum coloured trousers? No-one else in Britain could carry it off. Still, best stay neutral while under training, you don't want to attract attention for the wrong reasons.

Haha, I know he's not called colour for that reason! 😂

Thanks, might need it! Hmm...can't wait to transform my wardrobe into plum and wine colours! Yayyy!

I'll keep it classy, that way I'll get noticed for the right reasons 👌

Cheers mate!
