That's really weird, I do edexcel too but we are doing something about community spirit, some charity event. On activity 4 now, so glad it is nearly over!

I'm starting to get worried we won't even finish in time XD on activity 2. Does anyone even take foundation ICT?

Hey, I wouldn't consider myself a pro in any way but I got full marks on my controlled assessment on comparing texts for literature and on the mock  . I'll try and help you out if you give me a bit more detail on the task, but I think the general points with comparison are to show both explicit and subtle links between texts, compare the context/writer's ideas, and their effect on the reader.
In any other general essay it's just so important to make sustained, developed points, sophisticated ideas, close language analysis and show a really good understanding of the text. Some things which are really important to consider: the form, structure and general ideas/plot of the text, the writer's purpose, the social and historical context and the effect on the reader. If you address all these things you should be looking at A/A* but if you need more specific help I'm happy to help, I've studied of mice and men and comparing poems but not inspector calls

I got full marks on my Literature CAT too, though I think I'd find it difficult to help without actually seeing some of your work, but you you can ask me any questions you want about it if you need/want to. What kind of marks/bands are you getting at the moment?

Thank you both so so so much for offering to help , well I have just done a timed essay on an inspector calls after improving from my last essay (on my last essay I got band 4/5), I will get back the essay that I have tried to improve on after half term, so would it be okay if I asked you questions after I have my latest piece back so I know what band I am currently on
If any of you guys need help with anything(other than English obviously) ill be happy to help, thank you again

I got full marks on inspector calls. The main thing I was losing out on in my first draft was the background info. If you look to the very start of the book, there is a lot about the background.

We've done quite a lot of theory but we haven't finished it yet, what about you? I agree, filling in the asset table is so annoying!

I think it's good. Takes the pressure off on exam week, so we can revise harder for hard subjects, like Latin. Nice of Edexcel to consider our personal lives.

Oh okay, so you add in a paragraph about context or do you link it?
Do you mean like the dramatic irony with titanic and war because the play was written later than it was set?

I spoke about the transition from ignorance to wisdom for the audience and the characters, and said this was similar of the medieval morality play. I also said it was a detective - mystery novel. Might be worthwhile talking a bit about dramatic irony. Preferably don't copy those words exactly. Mention the contrast between the capitalist views of Mr billing and the socialist view of goole. I spent half an hour locating my essay to find that, you owe me one
