The new one is way easier because you don't have to learn how all the hardware listed in the spec works! Sadly I started AS computing in year 10 ( last year) so I missed the change- AQA

I am talking about the AQA. Sorry, forgot to mention it. Thanks for reminding me
I checked the AQA website, and it also says that the new Computer Science AS-Level spec won't be until September 2015 for them too. So if you are doing AQA now, you will be doing Computing not Computer Science.

Also not quite sure how you could say the new spec is "way" easier. Topics only at A2 are now dropping down to AS and even harder topics are being introduced. The good thing though is that most of the BS is being cut (e.g. extensive coursework documentation) and most of the new topics are pretty interesting.

The old WJEC Spec which I do is all just simple IT such as system life cycles. It's ridiculous.
I was referring to AQA but I agree, the new specs are definitely harder, much more interesting and related to Computer Science (most likely the reason for the name change). AS Computing was a bit of joke tbh (mostly GCSE content).

Thanks for informing me, I learnt from my teacher that they were cutting out quite a lot of the hardware detail and bs and adding a lot of new things. Wasn't that well informed about the things added and how hard they were!
