Yay.

I think this is my favourite thing on the internet right now.
I'm not offended by his existence, but I don't feel he has anything particularly insightful to say.

If he really wanted to change politics, he would run for parliament, maybe even start his own political party. But that would risk the humiliation of no-one actually voting for him, so its easier to just spout off from the sidelines encouraging people not to vote, as if that would achieve anything.

Perhaps, but if he had things his way, people wouldn't vote at all - so he's not really doing politics much justice.

Politics isn't just about having a democracy in which everyone votes, democracy is a political concept, it's not politics. So if anything, by getting people involved in politics he's doing a fantastic job, he's definitely giving it justice.

What

What

What I was trying to say (though not very well) was that there are other political theories in politics, not just democracy. So by telling people not to vote doesn't mean he's not doing politics justice.

(I'm sorry for my original choice of wording, I'm tired and jet lagged and I have my LNAT at 9am, I'm not functioning very well right now)

But he's not suggesting any alternative

He might not have given an alternative, but at least he's getting people involved and interested in politics, which is something we definitely need at the moment with our appalling turn-outs, people are just losing interest and at least he's bringing some back.
Dude really needs to wash his hair.
Pseudo-intellectual ****.

He isn't getting them 'involved and interested' - you must be totally deluded if you think giving people a class war style narrative to latch on to is the same as getting them involved.

All he does is legitimate the beliefs of those people who reject authority for no good reason, and claim that the government just exists for the sake of the wealthy, or the slew of other ridiculous beliefs bandying about in contemporary England.

Isnt it obvious that not voting, and not looking for a solution is the very opposition of involvement?

I think he's brilliant and hilarious, saying that I don't agree with his political beliefs in the slightest.

This. Entirely this.

He looks like he stinks. And not in the good way.

deliberately creates the look of a man who bathes in old chip grease and wakes up inside dumpsters as a lifestyle choice... but he's always got those suspiciously sparkling white veneered teeth twinkling away.

Looks like a phoney - I don't think he believes any of the stuff he's saying, it's just his act.

Brand supports democracy though, just not in its current form. He's a utopian socialist who offers no solutions, just problems. Until he maps out a plan of how his aims could be achieved, he's just talking hot air. Telling people not to vote solves nothing.

Endlessly ranting about problems without offering any solutions.
His politics are just awful. Having said that, this (and the show in general) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Yo9u need to identify the problem before you can find a solution.
