yeah but consider that a few weeks ago we were away in madrid - a game we were never gonna win.
but now away to ludogorets is a game we need to win; a game we most certainly should win.

problem is that rodgers can never do anything right in the eyes of some people now.
if he played a full team and didn't win in the CL people would have a go.
if he plays a weakened team and doesn't win today, people will criticise.

Well it doesn't say much if he doesn't have faith in his £200m team to get a result, does it?

Assuming that Basel and Ludogorets both lose their games against Real Madrid you don't need to win. You just need to get a result that leaves you with a superior head-to-head record vs Ludogorets then you need to beat Basel at Anfield. You could lose 3-2 for example and it wouldn't matter unless Basel got points off Madrid.

Yes we spent a lot of money but a lot of that was for depth and a lot of the players were overpriced.
Regardless of that, up against the European champions in Madrid?

Rivalry is good but you seem to jump on absolutely anything you can to criticise this club.

The issue is Basel getting a point from Madrid.
Of course it is unlikely but there's really no need for Madrid not to just play a weakened side or whatever.

Regardless, anything but a win against such an unknown, small club would be embarrassing.

Surely that means you should have the depth to destroy Lugrats without resting players the Saturday before?
Still plenty of time to go. Seems like LFC against Palace is always going to be a cracking fixture.

I said we bought, I didn't say we bought well...

As for Bolasie, it was clear we needed to keep an eye on him today; he's theirost dangerous player and Gayle will be around for any half chance.
