What PGCE can i do with a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design?

I have a BA(Hons) Degree in Graphic Design and I want to teach but I'm not sure wether to do a PGCE in Design & Technology or Art & Design. I presumed D&T but i know some people who studied graphic design and are now teaching art. Please bare in mined i have not studies art & design or D&T at A-Level before I did my degree.

Art is not in demand so you might struggle getting a place.

there are more jobs for D&T at the moment then the are art but that may change.

But how do you plan to teach something that (I presume) you have no/low knowledge of?

These skills, I would believe, are similar to the skills i would teach, especially if i was to teach a D&T: Graphics products course or an Art & Design - Graphic Communication specification. I know both people who have studies Graphic Design at uni and have done a PGCE in Art and others who have do it in D&T. Im just more sure which one would be best.

Surely, if you were to specialise in D&T, you would not be able to sub-specialise I think. The trend in secondary teaching is towards being able to teach most the things in your department, so science teachers have to know all the sciences (physics being an exception) or language teachers have to know at least 2 modern languages, ICT people are "encouraged" to teach another subject like Business, and similar. Offering 1 sub-specialism within a specialism only won't help your career prospects or your PGCE application, this applied to shortage subjects and more still to non-shortage subjects.
