Thank you  have you done all your interview as well? Oh okay thts good nd yes because I live in London and it's quite a long journey to get to Surrey. Hopefully I will get one. To be honest I wanted to do child nursing but I was finding it difficult to get into so I'm using this path to get into child and also it's more broad and general nursing.
I'm a 19 year old student and my name is Florence btw

Hi guys. It's so exciting to meet future nursing students on my course. I have an unconditional offer at Surrey. This is my second degree, as I previously studied languages. I'm hoping to live at home in Woking as I lived on campus before for my first degree.

I'm not exactly sure what to specialise in yet, but think the placements will be useful to help me work out suits me.

Have you received any information yet from Surrey? I've not heard anything since I received my offer. On SITS it says they want me to upload my education certificates, but I brought these in already for the interview so a bit confused.

Would love to know if you two have heard more, eg when we start exactly.

Also I'm Sarah. Do you reckon we should make a Facebook group for this? I know other years have. Like University of Surrey February 2015 Adult Nursing group or something.

Helo Florence, yes I have done the interview at surrey, the only condition is that I get NHS funding and satisfactory CRB etc. Have you applied for funding yet? I sent off my evidence last friday, waiting to know what my aard will be. I am a mature student, this will be my second degree. so u wanted to do child nursing? I did nt know it as harder to get into tho? wHO KNOWS,U MIGHT FIND AN AREA OF ADULT NURSING WHICH WILL INTEREST YOU SO MUCH THAT You end up settling for adult nursing-especially as it is broad.

ps:ignore the unnecessary capital letters..lol.

Hi Tina, oh okay. Where did you find to do the DBS check? I thought they would send us all the information? The only things I've sent of is my student finance. I am still currently applying for my NHS bursary.

Well for me it was a struggle to get in as it was very competitive so that is why I've decided to do adult. Yes that is what my parents are also telling me as they are both general nurses both adult nd child. They prefer adult as it is easier to communicate with and like you said they also told me I may like it eventually

Hi Sarah, I see what language did you study? Also when was your interview? Mine was on the 20th Nov. Morning slot.

Yes I am hoping as well that I find something within the placement that I would like to specialise in.

Same here i have not heard one thing from Surrey. However I think they won't send anything to us after Xmas as they would normally do it closer to the date usually 6 weeks. Yes I saw that as well and I uploaded my documents. I think on the interview they just checked everything was right but did not take anything. Just to be on the safe side upload all your qualification.

Yeah sure Im sure it will be very useful for others as well who is trying to find other students to talk to and get to know before the course starts

Hey, oh congratulations and hmm I'm not sure about DMU cause I have accepted my offer for surrey but i assume it will be the same. They should email you or contact you at least 6 weeks before the course date to do all of the paperwork

Hi all,

I studied French and German at uni before which was fun but didn't know what I wanted to do in the end after it.

Nursing has always been a passion, I just ended being encouraged to do other things.

Thanks for the hint Florence. I've uploaded all my certificates.

Also got an email re sorting out occupational health and stuff out before. Not too much info. I asked too when the course actually begins which is apparently 23rd February! Can't wait. Just trying to brush on my very basic anatomy knowledge before hand.

Hey Sara, when did you receive the email about sorting out occupational health and staff? Was the email in response to an enquiry or was it shortly after uploading your certificates?
Reply 18
It was on 3rd December asking us to complete an occupational health check form and a criminal declaration form. Have you got one yet? Maybe you've not firmly accepted your offer? I can't wait to get more details about the course though.

And it was before I uploaded all my certificates actually.

Hey Guys,

Hope your all doing well and yes I also recieved that email too, I will soon send off my occupational health hopefully by the end of this week or next.

Your welcome Sarah

Has anyone else found other people that will be starting in Feb cohort?
