Whether there is contact or not doesn't matter, it's the intent. You can get sent off for going in two footed in the tackle even if you don't touch a player.

The commentators trying to claim that it happens 20 or 30 times a game are idiots. Markovic has almost stopped and stretched back to try, and that's the key word, and make contact. It makes no difference whether he does or not.

Why is he doing it? He's beat his man and got a few yards on him. The act of stupidity got what it deserved.

Not sure why he did it, but no way is it deserving of a red IMO. The ref saw the player react later than he needed to, which tells him, its not as bad as it seems and they guy is trying to make it look worse than it is. No way is it a straight red, especially when the guy reacted 1-2 seconds later I'm afraid.
