What Course should I choose For Uni?

Hey Guyz!

I was doing A-levels last year and thought I was more of an academic person but the results turnout was not very good and I was disappointed. But Now, thank God, I go to a college and i'm currently studying for the BTEC extended diploma in applied science(medical science). Although this course is really good and I seem to like the practical person, I am just wondering if I'm a bit of both academic and practical as I like the joy of having to work for something at the end such as Exams but also cant sit still.

I went to a science specialist school and Although my GCSE grades were overall average, I did struggle with English and keep failing to get a C but because I really enjoyed my Science and Maths lessons I had better results in those subjects.

I am a sort of person who wants to aim high and do something I an interested in.

BIOLOGY is my worst subject in terms of exams as I got a U GRADE at AS LEVEL. but at the same time loved my biology lessons. I think its really interesting.

So now with this BTEC i'm able to show my biology knowledge through my assignments and I feel all my efforts haven't gone to waste.

Any Ideas as to which course may suit me best???

BTW... i still want to do 2 A- LEVELS (CHEM AND PHYSICS) as an external candidate alongside this course and i'm not planning to have a tutor for either of them as I like studying for myself. would that be too much??

IMO, if you're doing a BTEC in Applied Science (180 credits), then I'd personally skip self teaching Chemistry, and go with A-level Mathematics, if possible. Unless you want to do Chemistry at uni, then in that case I would personally go with doing Chemistry and A-level Mathematics.

Thanx, but I did chem last year so it might be easier to understand and besides I didnt do maths last year and Ive heard its difficult hence why I didnt take it.

But yeah! I think Maths and chem is a better combination as oppose to physics and chem because you can do much more with maths.

I am a bit nervous doing maths on my own bcos my college cant timetable us doing A- levels and I still have to resit some of GCSE English.

Do you know any online maths helps etc..

I do like maths but only fera if it would be too hard or not as I want to achieve grades in te range (A-C) AND IF ITS BELOW a C grade then i will be slightly disappointed.

You can just use the books, ask your college which examinations board they use, and then go with the necessary books

it still looks too hard though. I got a B in Maths GCSE, btw I find it incredily difficult to rearrange difficult equations.

It is hard, if you don't put your best efforts in it, you can't expect to sit around on Mathematics!

Many people have got B grades at GCSE and left A-level with very very high grades!!

Just focus on your weak areas then?
