i know this may seem naive of me, but it's an objective of mine, can any one tell me any careers that would help me gain this, or anything i could possibly do. thanks

Assuming a 40 year career span and ignoring inflation and investment risk/return; You need to save 25k a year.

If we assume 10k a year living expenses and normal sort of tax deductions then you probably need to be earning about 55k salary averaged out.

Plenty of careers have this earning potential.
