And which of those committed terrorist attacks in 2013?

The excuse that somebody was worse is not a justification to what these extremist groups are doing.

Burmese

So the Burmese make up 0.007% of the world population and they are responsible for 0.0006% of the global terrorist attacks.

See that is disproportionate to what we see with the Islamic groups.

But that still does not excuse the fact that so called islamic groups are not the only ones comitted attacks and that it is not an Islamic problem it is a problem within the country, taliban is not an Islamic problem it is a Pakistani and Afghanistani problem. Just like the ira are a Irish problem and not a Christian problem

The majority of terrorist attacks are done by Islamic Extremists.

It is common factor that all these groups share even though they act independently from one another. We must take that into account when dealing with the problem. There must be something in Islam that is turning so many people to become terrorists. Until we can work out what that is we will never be able to solve the problem.

The difference with the IRA is that they were a single group only acting within Ireland and the UK. Whereas Islamic Extremists are made up of several groups stretched across most of the globe.

Except we have islamic extremism everywhere. There have been attacks in america, several european countries, russia, china and australia, there are Boko Haram and Al Shabaab in Africa as well as violence in Libya and Egypt, and the middle east in general is just one cluster****. Other religions and ideologies have spawned terrorists but none of them are doing it on the same scale as Islam. It seems basically anywhere you find Muslims a few of them try to blow something up

Frances history of treating Maghrebian and Africans like **** is similar to how the british treated pretty much every brown nation and how the Arabs treated the Africans.

Its been a ticking time bomb for centuries.Just look at those stupid stupid cartoons.

IMO this is all directly linked to the British/EU/US/Western/including israeli racist foreign policy of imperialism

ISIS and their minions are all directly linked to such action.

Muslims and the European West have been going at it for 1000 years, nothings changed

both lying through their teeth its about religion or 'liberal freedoms' like the people in this thread banging on about "freedom of speech" when its just about political dominance for power.

you have both left a trail of destruction wherever you lay your heads.

just find an island and fight it out so the rest of us can live in peace

This is 100 percent spot on hence the reason why i said earlier they are both as bad as eachother.
The trolls babbling on about freedom of speech are a bit more annoying though.
Atleast the muslims as naive as they are have a reason to feel aggrieved if you look at history and even recent affairs.
Whats the freedom squads reason for continiously antaginsing because its "their right" to do so?

Don't want to high-jack the thread. But IS are Muslims. They believe in Allah and the Prophet Muhammad. They consider their leader to be the successor of Muhammad.

To say they aren't is just intellectual dishonesty.

Hey there. Just to correct you there have been no successors of Muhammad and there never will be. They are extreme. They take innocent lives. That is why a lot of Muslims do not want to be associated with them.

centuries of people living in the caliphates back in the day would disagree

Apparently the gunmen were French.

I heard it too. A lot of eyewitness accounts said that the gun men were fluently speaking French and only chanted one word 'Allah Akbar'. The word that everyone associates with terrorism. The word in fact is v. irrelevant and is used wrongly in this case.

There are different types of Muslims like there are different types of Christians. Maybe they would.

Because when there are morons willing to kill you for drawing a cartoon, avoiding drawing that cartoon is letting the morons win. And on principle we can't have that.

The so-called "successor" is a nutter. There has never been a successor of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and there never will be.

It's also v. suspicious if you ask me. Politics is a dirty business.

the majority of Muslims believed the Caliphs to be the successors to Mohammed, at least the first few. The leader of ISIS is just claiming to be the next (I don' think he has widespread support in that though)

islam didnt end after mohammeds death. in fact it only spread out of arabia due scores of successive warlords ( caliphs) that took power and marched islam into various other countries. IS are simply following islamic tradition
