The guy who killed the policewoman yesterday is a friend of the two brothers. He's on the run too.

I don't think we should have the freedom to offend.

That is both ridiculous and impossible. People take offence to the most unlikely things; do you propose we should say nothing because it could cause offence to someone?

I am offended by your proposition which runs counter to 200 years of cultural development in the west.. And you have used your freedom to offend to propose that what you have done be made illegal. In your own eyes you have committed a crime. Are you prepared to accept the consequences of that?

the comments are worth reading ....
According to the BBC the suspects have told the police "that they are ready for martyrdom".

The BBC are also promoting a tweet on their live feed: "Martyrs die for faith; if gunmen are killed it will because they are barbaric, inhuman thugs, not because of their faith."

Ridiculous piece in the Independent today about Breivik, trying to divert attention :facepalm2:

Hmm, but then TSR does seem to be full of little Breiviks today.

Go to the Isoc and tell them that in Islam you're allowed to pick and choose which parts of the Quran you want to live by and that the book is not meant to be taken litterally and see what response you get.

Not pick and choose just not take literally...

Possibility that the 3rd suspect could be the one who is has taken a hostage in the Jewish shop. Tentative early link but not confirmed at all.

Didn't the third suspect hand himself in?

More likely this hostage situation is being carried out by the one that killed a policewoman.

Oh yes that's who I meant by 3rd suspect! 3rd suspect on the run*

Well, it's not inaccurate, is it.

Kudos to the BBC for not sitting on the fence.

You think France will become the only civilised place in the Middle East?

ah, so a country whose people are illegally occupying Palestine and breaking many international laws not to mention the amount of pain they have inflicted on Palestinians with their hundred's of military points, denying them even the most basic human rights is civilised?

After the holocaust, israel today is repeating the actions of hitler (MURDERING, TORTURING, IMPRISONING), and no one is batting so much as an eyelid.
You cannot simply call a country civilised just because the actual country hasn't been torn to pieces, nope, their busy ruining Palestinian land.

Win what ? lol.
grow up man.
As the above said overall this has very little to do with islam .
except that the attackers were part of a jihadi group in France (the Buttes Chaumont Jihadi Group) which radicalised them, sent one of them to train and fight in Yemen, that they were in contact with the notorious Islamic "scholar" Anwar Al-Awlaki, that they led strict Islamic lives (including one of them hiding away his wife in a niqab), that they shouted Al Qaida/Islamist slogans etc etc

What else could they do to declare their allegiance to the Islamist religious/political agenda ?

you have absolutely no idea of what Hitler did, if you compare Israel's policies with Nazism

and yes, I don't agree with Israel's policies

How can you even being to compare Israel to Nazi Germany? An insignificant number of Palestinians have died compared to the numbers the Nazis killed. It isn't as if Hamas isn't attacking Israel anyway.

No, I mean France will be the next perpetual Western victim of jihad.

And have people get annoyed when they don't roll over and take it?

Probably, although in France's case its jihadists are home-grown, rather than living in a bordering piece of land. So it won't be able to build any "apartheid walls", although it may be condemned for any future up-scaling of domestic security.
france would be palestine if a new muslim state was created within france and took more and more land.

Did you not read what i wrote?
This has little to do with islam.
For the most part its about the control of power and backlash for centuries of oppression at the hands of the french.
Why even make parallels to Israel? These are French hostages of Jewish faith. They are (in all probability) not Israeli nationals; they have no input to the Palestine situation. Stop with the antisemitism Islamists, it's getting dull.
