Yeah I think I'd be equally happy with DMU or Leeds at the minute, on paper if prefer Leeds simply because of it's location! What are the facilities like at Leeds? I haven't been to either of them but (hopefully) I'll get more of an insight into the place if I get an interview

I'm not really too sure if they have specific facilities - When I went for the open day, I literally just went to the talk and went home because we had a family occasion in the afternoon, so I didn't really get much time to wonder and explore facilities! But the talk was very well done and informative - I'm sure we'll get more info, if we get an interview!
Oh they also offer I think it was 9 places for an extra half a year to specialise in swallowing (like marjon, except it's an add on at the end of the course and there are only a few places!) which is good because then you're keeping your career aspects slightly more open at the end of the degree!
Also they seemed really keen on getting you involved in learning makaton and extra bits and pieces which interested me!

I feel like I should give up hope on leeds... People who sent their application off after me have heard back and I haven't... I'm really starting to freak out now. If they're gonna reject me please could they just hurry on and do it so I can move on with my life :/

My mum says no news is good news so while it isn't ideal you haven't been contacted yet, it means they haven't rejected you yet!

That's very true!! And I live about 40 minutes from Leeds in a little town you've probably never heard of in between York and Hull and about 20 minutes from Selby! Where are you from?

Sounds good, so you want to go to Leeds to be close to home or something? I'm from Newcastle so about as far up north as you can get.

I'm not too fussed about distance, it would be nice simply because I sort of know the area for placements but I suppose wherever you end up that's just something you'll get used to! I just like the look of the course at Leeds so I think I want to go to Leeds more for the course and area then for the distance home

Hi!
Has anyone else had an email about Leeds interviews? Saying that they have got one but track should be updated sometime this month?
And also I got an interview for BCU for the 30th January but I'm slightly worried as I feel this is really late? As everyone seems to have had their interviews for BCU?

At least you have an interview for birmingham, I am still waiting on an offer for interview...when did you send off your ucas application? I wonder if mine will be on the 30th of Jan too (if i get one) as its my birthday !

Yep, I'm right there with ya! Looking on the bright side, you've had an interview so just need that offer...I haven't heard a thing and it looks as though people that applied after me have had an invite for the 30th Jan. Good for them, but this process is really wearing me down now .

When did you apply? Not sure how different it is through UCAS and directly to uni but they received my application 21st October and I had heard back from them on the29th xx

Ditto! But waiting for Man Met instead! I have my aunties funeral today, so it would be great if I got back home to some good news!

I applied 25th November, so that's quite a while ago! Called them a couple of times to see what the deal was and was told that they had received my application but hadn't read through it yet! Anyway, I just have to stay patient but it's easier said than done...especially when you read that others that applied after you have had an offer for an invite...anyways... hope you hear good news soon!
