If there is a verb after you use the imperfect tense is it in the infinitive?

So - I was reading ( Imparfait/Imperfect) je lisais

I was going to read j'allais lire ( imparfait/ imperfect) of aller to go, followed by infinitive of manger to eat.

It's not the tense that makes it followed by the infinitive but the meaning - to read.

You can have an infinitive after any tense.

Unless you are talking about the plus-que-parfait (pluperfect) tense, which is where the auxiliary (avoir/etre) is in the imperfect tense. In this case it is followed by the perfect tense of the verb. This has the same meaning as 'I had (done something)'.
J'avais lu = I had read
J'étais allé = I had gone
etc

bonne chance* 'chance' is a feminine noun, so the adjective (bon/bonne/bons/bonnes) has to agree :kungfu:

If you make a more specific post, we can help you more. However, I will say that if a verb is followed by another verb, the second one will only ever be a past participle or an infinitive.

this is what my teacher calls 'the second verb rule'

any verb used after one has been previously is an infinitive
e.g j'aime etudier- i love studying etudier is in the infinitive form because it is preceded by aime, any verb used after this is as normal then after that is an infinitive
but a helper verb cant be classed as a first verb so is not followed by an infinitive e.g j'ai decide

the decide (e -accent) is not an infinitive because the avoir (ai) is a helper verb but any verb after this IS
j'ai decide d'avoir - i decided to have
