Holiday to Croatia??

Hi this summer my family and another family are going on holiday and are looking into Croatia, but don't know where to start!

There will be 4 adults and 3 19yr olds so we want a lively place with plenty of activities or nearby places to visit. We're not the type to sunbathe all day every day.

Has anybody been there and can recommend any places to stay? Would like all inclusive if possible. Thanks

We went to Croatia last year - a group of 10. We arrived in Split from Gatwick, London.

Day 1: Took the boat from Split to Hvar Island (there were bars, places to eat, nice small beach where we stayed higher up)
Day 2: Vis Island (took a boat taxi from Hvar - think it was over 5 hours, but we stopped off at some really cool islands on the way)
Day 3: Split (went to some waterfall park)
Day 4: Plitvice National Park (definite must see)
Day 5: Zagreb

We stayed in different places each night (think we may have used airbnb). We also had a car day 3 - day 5.

Split is one of the places we've looked at. Is there much going on or is it a quiet town? How long would you recommend staying?

Thanks for your help

Yeah, there's stuff going on there, but it's not super busy at the same time (although we went May time I believe). It's got nice scenery there by the docks, old fashion buildings and a popular bell tower, markets, wine cellar, places to grab a bite. There's night life near the docks as well - a few big clubs.

I'd say no more than 2 days (1 night). When we arrived in Split we just walked around for a few hours before going to Hvar. Then a few days after we came back and stayed the night (watched CL football Madrid vs Athletico, checked out the night scene) and collected the car in the morning and left.
