Thought this for a while, but you've got a hell of a taste in films.

Thanks very much

What did you think of this years nominations, any surprises/disappointments? I think Nightcrawler deserved a Best Picture nomination with Gyllenhaal for best actor as well. Plus no Lego Movie for animation was odd.

The Lego Movie was a MASSIVE surprise.

I love Nightcrawler, but I guess it isn't a very Academy-friendly film really. I'm surprised Jennifer Aniston didn't get a nod for Cake (I haven't seen it but I've heard she is unbelievable in it and it's different to anything she's done before), Selma isn't up for Best Director and Foxcatcher isn't up for Best Picture.

I'm not too upset because frankly I hated The Lego Movie.

Never seen Aniston in a dramatic role, so I look forward to seeing Cake, that and Still Alice are going to be pretty bleak it seems. I wasn't as taken with Foxcatcher as you I think, I was surprised Bennett Miller got a directing nod TBH. Much prefer Moneyball.

Moneyball's great, but something about Foxcatcher just stuck with me long after I'd watched it. Don't get me wrong, it's a difficult film to love, but it really affected me.
Best Picture: Boyhood

Best Actor: Michael Keaton (although the academy does love a disabled character so it could by Redmayne)

Best Actress: Julianne Moore

Best Supporting Actor: JK Simmons

Best Supporting Actress: Patricia Arquette

Best Director: Richard Linklater

Most awards: Boyhood.

Guess which film will win the most awards on the night! Birdman

This is how the Academy I think will vote. Not who I would choose- for me Eddie Redmayne would win best actor and Marion Cotillard best actress.

I'll go for The Grand Budapest Hotel to win the most awards, with Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Costume Design, Score and Production Design.
I had to do this as my media homework! I haven't seen most of these films, so I'm almost entirely guessing.

(not sure what's going on with the formatting, but I can't really resolve it)

Best Picture

American Sniper

Best Actor

Eddie Redmayne, The Theory of Everything

Best Actress

Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl

Best Supporting Actor

Mark Ruffalo, Foxcatcher

Best Supporting Actress

Keira Knightley, The Imitation Game

Most Awards taken on the night - Interstellar. I think it'll dominate the technicals (like Inception did), and end up with the most overall Oscars.
