Missed the cut-off but here in spirit

Missed the cut-off date for the competition but I'm with you all in spirit.

Doing a 'Dry January" so figured may as well try a low-carb diet and attempt to lose some weight in the process.

Beginning weight: 76.7kg - Jan 12th

Food is low carbs. Mostly salad for lunch. Dinners are meat + veg. Alcohol: 0 :moon:

A 'thins' sandwich. Still pretty carby but a hell of a reduction compared to the 4x slices of white bread I used to have everyday.

weight today: 75kg

Plans for low carb were almost sabotaged by a decision to have a meal out at Pizza Express. Opted to go for their healthier pizza which had a relativly low carb count (theres a hole in it under that salad):

Sunday lunch was McDonald's Chicken + Bacon salad. Dinner was Roast chicken smothered in Frank's Hot Sauce and spinich:

So it's been 1 week since starting the low carb diet.

Total weight lost in 1st week: 2.3kg or 5 pounds.

Dinner was more Piri Piri chicken with cauliflower, mashed swede and chili fried peppers:

All this food looks lush! I'm now very hungry after seeing it all. Well done on your progress so far!

Dinner was chicken + cheese, chilli fried mushrooms with spring onions and broccoli. I've also replaced the lunchtime sandwich with a 2nd apple to further lower carbs. Suspect that alot of the weight loss at this stage is still water loss so trying to drink more water as well.

Weight today: Stable at 73.1

Dinner was chicken and bacon with flat mushrooms + mozzarella .
