You will meet your GOD and He will call you to account for your actions. Let those who are present warn those who are absent. At the end he repeated to the people the final revelation of Quran, the seal and termination, not Mohammad’s words but GOD’s word, “This day I have perfected your religion for you and completed my favour to you and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.”

Does she not need to perform the shahada? How is this normally arranged?

If she's just interested in Islam then one must not pressure. You could guide her by saying read the Quran yourself. BUT if she is serious...

Tell her to go a local mosque and I'm sure one of the sisters would be happy to help her.

In the Quran, does the term 'People of the Scripture' refer to the Jews and Christians?

Unfortunately i do not know of any book soley devoted to his life.

2 Books in which his life is included are the "Saviours of the Islamic spirit" by Shaykh Abul Hasan Nadwi which has many amazing personalities covered over 3 volumes and there is the previously mentioned book of Shaykh Muhammad Abu Zahra in which his life along with the formation amd the characteristics of his madhab along with its usool is covered.

Lecture series on YouTube which are good are the series by Kamal al-Makki, Shaykh Muhammad Musa al-Shareef and Shaykh Ahmad Jibreel.
