If she is a devoted Muslim then you should forget about getting into a relationship. You don't understand the gravity of how much trouble you both can get. her family wont accept this if she is a good Muslim. As a Muslim, I would advice you to stop this before this even starts. Regrets and guilt only awaits at the end of this road.
What is so wrong with liking someone and pursuing a healthy relationship (excluding sex)

The OP already said he wouldn't have pre-marital sex with her. That isn't the issue. It's that he isn't allowed a relationship with her at all. Strictly, Islam doesn't even allow male-female friendships.

fair enough
I'd say confront her and tell her (that is if you have the balls to do it) and see what she says. I have a feeling she's into confident guys (but not to the extent where your cocky and ignorant).
Good luck

It's only wrong in the eyes of Islam.

My friend, Islam doesn't allows that unless you are in a Nikkah or at least engaged together. Sure if someone doesn't cares about all the sins, their families, their future and afterlife then go ahead do what ever you feel like doing.
And maybe sex will be excluded for now but later on in a relationship it always comes in as its in human instinct that you can't control for ever near your gf.

I promise you I can control myself.
why does everyone think relationship is about sex.

Stop watching porn mate, stop masturbating mate. You can control anything if you stop those two.

You can control it. Though we are not Muslims but Christians, my mum was a virgin when she married my dad at the age of 28 or thereabout. He respected her wish to stay a virgin
I have a feeling this should be in /religion, instead of /relationships. The thread has taken a turn for the worse... lmao

Obviously because friendships can lead to having feelings for one another, and now OP is deciding what to do about his situation. So if he weren't friends with her in the first place, he wouldn't be in this dilemma. Do you understand?

It does allow you to speak to the opposite sex in work relations though, so it's still okay. But I mean, Islam doesn't allow friendships between males and females, but Allah does understand societies are different. How people are living in Saudi Arabia for example, is very different to how we are living. We have to see and talk to girls every single day in classrooms/workplace etc. and developing feelings are bound to happen. It's what you do afterwards that matters more. For example, my A-Level Maths teacher, she married another teacher from the same school. She was like 30, so she was old for marriage (for a South Asian woman)

And why is it even so important to you to make her you gf when she is already your friend?

I'm not forcing you to stop dude. It's up to you to do what ever you feel like doing. But you wont see what I'm talking to you about now but later on when you mess things up.

Not everyone is like your mom dude. Most of the people now a days don't have self esteem when it comes to this.

I dont get it Akhi, how can you have a relationship without being sexually intimate.

Of course you can. I know someone(Muslim) who dated her now husband for 4 years, and had no sex during that time.
