What a bellend. Of course they are responsible - THEY pulled the trigger not the bat**** crazy religious nutjobs...
The guy is just a dickhead with a big mouth and big opinions. Like the guy on question time said - stand for parliament or STFU Brand.

As much as people don't like him, I think Brand actually raises some good points which are worth thinking about, definitely not black and white, good and evil here.

Of course this isn't meant to be a justification. But we do need to understand how to prevent further attacks else the next time, casualties may go into the 1000's.

I just wish that this country could openly accept responsibility for what we have done to Iraq, and do the best we can to fix this problem we have created, rather than pretending our hands are clean whenever ISIS carry out an attack.

Well those are two different things. The wests actions in Iraq are unforgivable, and were unjustifiable, and as a result our Governments are at least to a degree responsible for the dangerous situation in that country. But the paris terror attack is a different case, it is people who are so outraged at what a magazine decided to publish that they thought they had the right or perhaps even the duty to kill people.
It says a lot about people when they are drawn in by verbose waffle masquerading as argument. I respect people a lot more who appreciate the real logic and strength of arguments, rather than how they are presented.

I bet if you deconstructed Brand's arguments into plain English, his followers would start to realise how poor they are.

I think Brand is well and truly 'gone' on this one. His ignorance on this issue is startling to be frank. What are your thoughts?

What a dog. he must of bought the muslim victimhood narrative. someone should tell this house-englishman what the an-anfal campaign is or the halabja massacre or the genocide of the yezeed in sinjar. seems like his reading majdi freemans twitter account.

He's got a point.

We have killed millions and desroyed the Middle East, and are always blaming Muslims for everything.
What I love about Russell Brand is that he speaks the truth and is not afraid to do so.

Blamed, maybe. But we've also apologized for their actions and refered to anybody doing such 'blaming' as Islamophoes, racists and 'little-Englanders'.

The award for refusing to look in the mirror and take responsibility goes to Islam.

It's nice to hear half a story, though.

Hold on, you're personalizing the conversation now. You clearly cannot debate.

It is peaceful, read the 10 commandments.

In fact, we are more free, better housed, better clothed, better educated, healthier, longer lived, more technologically adept and more tolerant than we have ever been (and by those measures, surely our political class has served us reasonably well?). The society we have now is a marvel compared to what we had even a hundred years. Life is actually pretty darn good.

You do realise things only got to that stage because of REVOLUTIONS and people FIGHTING and PROTESTING for change right? Your argument is absolutely daft. A lot of what you said is also questionable as it depends entirely upon how you define these things. It could be argued that we are not more free and most Orwellian's would probably make that claim. You also fail to acknowledge all of the negativities some of these things have brought upon us like technology has brought with it many challenges to the modern world and I say that as a computer scientist. You cant compare what life is like now to the life of someone 100 years ago either as you never lived it and its all secondary evidence.

You might think life is pretty darn good and thats good for you but I find many things appalling and want to fight to have them changed and yes we do need more revolutions and we do need more people standing up. It's just great black people in America didn't have your attitude because then there would have been no LA Race Riots that invoked changed - they would have had the attitude of, 'oh at least we haven't got to sit at the back of the bus no more. Life is pretty darn good for a black guy these days'.

Yes we do need a revolution.

a) the rich still cream the most of the money from the top - inequality is a disgrace
b) the political class are out of touch and want to control the masses even more through surveillance
c) the concept of democracy is false in modern politics - you get a vote which doesn't really influence the actual outcome
d) cost of living is ridiculously high

Slag off Brand all you like and yes he is a Champagne Socialist but give me a bloke like him raising the issues rather than the rich elite who despise and look down on the poor any day of the week. Oh, and before you think you're not, you are poor...because the rich elite I am talking about see you as nothing more than a working commodity, a statistic, who is a labour slave to use to get even richer and then you die and you're just another number on a piece of paper as their legacy grows.

Like the guy on question time said - stand for parliament or STFU Brand.

Why would he stand for parliament when he doesn't believe in the system? I wouldn't. The system is inherently flawed. Anyone that becomes a politician within this system cannot invoke real change. That is a fact. They pander to the corporations that actually run the country, the private sector that funds them and keeps their privileged Eton educated arses in jobs and that is the way it'll always be until there is a revolution. Brand knows this and he is a bit of a loon. Its shocking that supposed holier than thou people who want to discredit Brand on here cant see this either.

Telling Brand to stand and become part of the system when he supports a revolution and hates the system is just dumb.

He's a zealous convert to the perpetual awkward squad that opposes everything this country does or stands for, not for any purpose or as a result of some logic, but just on principle.

I emphatically agree.

Islam didn't bother the West until we went meddling into their affairs and raped and pillaged half of the world. But lets pretend we can just say sorry and hope thats the end of that then. Not only that but we continuously go back and back and kill the relatives of Muslims living in the West. Its no wonder many of them are driven to do what they do. Lets not let fact get in the way of your Western centric focus though. Yes, extremism is wrong but our 'leaders' or 'elected morons' which I think is more apt, have not helped at all and the truth is, in my opinion, is they don't care. The average person to a leader is a disposable statistic. We're just numbers at the ONS. This is what the average politician thinks of the average person in the UK. They have nothing but contempt for us, see us as a lower class and do not care about us or anyone else outside their political bubble. Notice how, when there's a summit where all these 'important' people go they get security thats out of this world yet they cant protect us or our public services or whatever. They're full of ****. They don't want to because they want to ensure their rich friends in the private sector get massive bonuses and in return they get funded and they want to ensure they get kept in power.

Vive La Revolution!!!
100% agree with him

*******s. The truth is so many Brits think this country is the greatest place ever and are so arrogant its unreal. Other countries like Germany just laugh at us as do some of the countries in Asia as well. The Russians, due to the fact I speak the language, routinely refer to us as 'a non country protected by America' during their talks.

Russell Brand is right.

1) Promoting peace through intervention/war is idiotic
2) His stance on drug policy is correct as proven elsewhere in the world
3) He is correct on inequality is correct and in terms of cost of living x wages the UK is one of the most unequal places in the EU
4) His stance on tax avoidance is right

So again, whats the nonsense he's spouting here? Sorry if the truth hurts but he is 100% right and we know the politicians wont do anything because of their vested interests.
