Tell me more about the student experience of studying the course at middlesex. I'd really appreciate it!

I really want to study with them and I hope that I get as much luck as you did.

P.S. What was the other uni who gave you an other, and why did you choose middlesex over that uni?

The studying experience is very good there, the beginning of the course you get your timetable for the whole year, so you know exactly what you're doing for the whole year. also the degree is set up in a good way, so placement times and uni times don't clash, and so you get to focus on each thing seperately. I know SouthBank uni give their students 3 months for the first placement.. Which is so long, and they make the students have exams and assignments due while on that placement. Middlesex give you the assignments and exams while in uni time, and the placement time you get to focus on only the placement which is good. And SouthBank was my other offer, this was the reason why I didnt to go to them. Middlesex has 6 weeks placements, and 4 of them for year 1 and 2. Year 3 is a little bit different because the last placement is 3 months and it's a management placement.

Wow, Middlesex sounds very organised with their course as well. I knew when I first stepped in there to do the skills test, I wanted to study there. The environment and support they give to their potential students are really good.

The nursing lecturer was brilliant at explaining the course during the open day. They didn't rush the information, unlike other universities lol.

It's good hearing from your point of view, and that you're enjoying the course as well

They sound much better than southbank as well :P

Thanks, if there's anything else you would like to know I'm here. That's pretty much it, there's nothing else really to know. In the first year your class will be a mixed bag. Mental health, paediatric and Adult will be in your class, and you'll have 1 day in the week for your own field whether it is adult mental or paeds. Then the second year you specialise into your own field. Also it will be very easy to work during your degree if you don't have a job. You can do something called "BANK" work. And they accept student nurses, and pay quite well. I have a BANK job and I get £10.98 an hour. A lot of my friends are also doing BANK work too.

That's a lot of people in one class lol!

So, when the second yet approaches, everyone goes into separate groups?

The "BANK" work seems decent and less hassle. What do you actually do in that job role and where?

It sounds like a lot but it's not. My class to be specific, we have 20 people in my class. And 5 are mental Heath, 3 paediatric and the rest are adult like me. There's 3 different classes we have. And 2 of them are mixed. One 1 is adult only. The paeds students go to their paeds lecturer and the MH go to their MH. In the second year you just have adult lecturer and only adult students . You can apply to do BANK work in any place they send you for placement, or anywhere, or the NHS jobs website. The other day they were looking for HCA's BANK work for £13 an hour in barts, which is Royal London Hospital, London Chest, Newham Hospital and Whipps. My BANK job is at Guy's & St Thomas Hospital. And it's a patient catering job. Easy peasy job. But I'm trying to get a higher paid BANK job which is easy for us student nurses, and also do a job that is helpful for my nursing career like HCA work. (healthcare assistant band 2). You can BANK work in any job really, from cleaner to staff nurse. But it just allows you to work when you want, no contracts, no hassle, way more money than others. I'm only a bank waiter .. And I get paid more than my friend who is a manager LOL.

Lol I thought there would be around 300 in one class. That's not bad, better chance of learning and getting support ^_^

Cool, I might myself one of jobs soon. I like your job, you get to be in contact with patients and cater for them. LOOL! she must have felt disappointed hahahahaha! It's strange, because managers get paid more than waiters. you are really lucky :P

Does it depend on which hospital you work at?
