Is £100k a year really that much of a salary nowadays?

Obv the average salary is much less, but still..

Or do you have to be a millionaire nowadays? esp in London?

I dunno if a lot of people would hear 100k and think "thats a lot" any more

In some circles (e.g. Londoners) it is seen as average ish though..

Inflation will slowly chip away at the value of £100k. In 50 years it will not be worth much at all.

I would say £100k at today's value is that much as a vast majority of the population are never likely to reach it.

I very much doubt anything other than a small minority of financial workers etc in London consider it anywhere near an average salary.

I suspect not. So we can conclude that a £100k salary isnt considered alot by children of parents who earn more than that. Compelling conclusions indeed.
I certainly wouldn't say no to a £100k salary but it is interesting to think that being a millionaire these days in no way means you are as rich as it would have say 20 years ago!

I wouldn't know. I don't live in London.
