I would personally have aimed for higher status universities with those grades, to put you in a better position for applying for jobs. If you do end up with those grades, maybe consider clearing to get into higher ranked institutions. I'm not sure on what the stance is for Btec but I would assume conversions wouldn't be too dissimilar.

Nevertheless, when starting your firsrt year of university, I would recommend looking for opportunities to get experience in the broking industry, be it through family members/friends or formal programmes such as the aforementioned ICAP insight programme: http://www.icapcampusrecruitment.com/programmes/industry-insight.aspx

What is the current subject you wish to study?

Along with Oxbridge, Imperial and LSE; UCL and Warwick, the remaining members of the G5, are also top Universities to break into the profession from. After the G5:

•

Durham/Edinburgh/Nottingham/Bristol

•

Cass Business School (London)

•

York/Bath/St Andrews

•

King’s/Manchester
