Been offered a place at Huddersfield Uni for Adult Nursing and accepted it as my firm choice. Is anybody else on the same course at Huddersfield?

I've applied for Children's. I have an interview on the 12th Feb and was wondering what the actual interview was like and what kind of questions/ activities did they do? Also did you have to demonstrate knowledge on current health and what was the dress code?

Huddersfield are emailing people who have offers about applicant days they are hosting. Sort of like a taster day for the course so you can meet your future tutors and see the learning environment. I haven't had an email yet but I will be going along when they send me the date x

I'm from Hudds and I only live 10 minutes away on a bus so i'm gonna be living at home, that way I can afford to get myself a car for placements etc. Are you living in halls? I know i'll miss out on a lot of things but i'm sure I'll still meet people to socialise with xx

Oh that's alright then!!! I wanted to do that. But I'm from Blackburn so I'll have to move into halls. Yeah but you'll probably get invited to all the events and everything anyway. Don't think you'll miss much x

hello! The interview day was so enjoyable I loved it! There were 13 girls altogether on the day and we were split into 2 groups, we were given a scenario of finding somebody walking down the street unsteady on their feel wearing nightwear. We discussed our possible actions in our groups whilst being observed by the tutors. We then waited for our individual interviews and I was interviewed by a service user and a course lecturer, went amazingly well it was more like a chat than an interview. I've heard the midwifery interview is similar so i dare say child nursing will be similar too. I wore a dress, tights, boots and a cardigan which was quite casual but still made an effort to look presentable. Many other girls wore trouser suits but then there were a few that wore black jeans and a blouse. Not too smart but just enough. Hope all goes well! x Also they asked me to discuss a current health issue, which i had already researched and had my answer prepared. I've heard they do for midwifery too so they will probably as you too! be prepared xx

Thank you! Might sound silly but what about hair?

Thanks! how long was the interview? I'm trying to figure out whether my return ticket should be at half 1 or half 2. Also how much do taxis cost, and how long and easy is it to walk from the train station to the uni and vise versa?

It was about 2 and a half hours, not much waiting around so it was okay. The uni is literally a 5 minute walk from the train station, if you find the map on your phone it's really easy just straight down through town! You can get an open return so you can go at any time can't you? X
